It's been 48 hours since the story broke, there's now been a statement from the FA, a statement from City and a statement from the PFA, if we were getting one from WADA, I suspect we'd know about it by now.
I don't think so. WADA won't have been involved in the hearing so will have only heard the decision at the same time as the rest of us. They will be weighing up their options carefully before wording a response. Thus why any speculation about them appealing doesn't have any quotes, since they won't have anything to say to the media yet.
If they're going to do anything, we'll find out shortly, but the Mirror story has no quotes because it's nothing but speculation.
Absolutely, like we're all speculating. WADA will likely put out a statement one way or the other due to the unexpected result of this case, and we'll be wiser when that happens. I think the fact they haven't said anything so far doesn't mean they won't say anything.
He's tested positive on a match day, means it was still in his system. Poorly worded on my behalf though.
"He's a good man." Assem Allam welcomed Jake Livermore back to Hull City (Hull Tigers) after FA decide on no further sanctions against the player following a failed drugs test. It emerged Livermore was suffering from depression after the death of his baby... https://www.facebook.com/BBCLookNorth?ref=ts&fref=ts
So he's happy, and still supports the club and team, despite not going to matches. OLM can you confirm if you've ever seen Assem and PMT in the same room at the same time?? Nice to see and hear him show his support for Jake too.
Previous poster mentioned something about opposition fans (think it was Wednesday) shouting after the death of Billy Sharp's baby - am I naive in thinking that no-one would stoop so low and the same thing would happen to Livermore? The sniffing coke element I could understand and can expect some banter for that, but the death of a baby, surely not??
When Jake returns there is no doubt he will be the subject of some unsavoury chants. What we need to be planning is when this occurs, within a few seconds we should start a chant supporting Jake to drown these out and show our support for "one of our own". Losing a child is just horrific and if we can help him we should, every match day.
Thanks for putting me right and apologies to Wednesday fans. Guess OLM answered the Q tho - people will stoop that low!
As ****y as some fans can be, and as ****y as some people are who would defend them, I can't believe anyone would chant anything at Livermore over his son dieing. If they did, it's no wonder footy fans are treated the way they are. I'm struggling to even get my head round why anyone would do that.
Sadly we live in that kind of world. Liverpool fans still chant about the Munich disaster etc - leaves me scratching my head to be honest people revelling in disaster. We're all fans and we all like banter, some just don't know the difference between acceptable and unacceptable.
Under the cirrcumstances I would not want to be one "baiting Jake". Decent people will react i suspect. However the scum in our sociiety have and show No moral fibre at all.
For once the FA have made a good decision regarding player punishment Hopefully Livermore has come to terms with his loss and with the help and support of all elements of the club he can move forward As for WADA appeal there would be a simple solution, FA ban livermore for 24 mths, but suspend 18 mths of the ban due to circumstances. Jake can then get on with his life at the same time as WADA get there way
I certainly ain't a AA fan. but credit to him for this short interview with, he showed great compassion and came across really well hats off to him for that. I wonder how many people just went to look at page 300 ?
