I agree with peter....Faurlin, gives us something others don't (no knowledge about Toszer yet). The quick , long reaching balls, the fast crosses.....the fact he is quiet and measured for the most of the match makes these events all the more damaging, especially in the championship. This is not the place to discuss his merits as a Premiership player, but as a Championship midfielder he is top notch....but he has to be played in cotton wool as he is obviously injury prone. I wonder if Faurlin and Toszer are never going to appear together, but will be used interchangably Interesting times
Beth, I personally would go for your team this Saturday. However, It would mean dropping: => Doughty (for Toszer) => Hall (for Angella) The key issue is do you change a winning team? I think that answer to this question lines in what has been happening behind the scenes for the last two weeks during training and practice sessions. It is Chris Ramsey's call and it is what he paid and judged on. But it is fun to speculate!
Good speculation/good question. Soo you are right....now Doughty was in for Henry who was attending his babies birth.....so he is fringe...so do you play Doghty who did well, Henry who had custody of the place or Toszer.. I could feel justified in going for Toszer Angella is difficult. Hall replaced Clint, and imho did better and looked more solid....so perhaps not. That would uphold CR principles and ethos. So Hall in Angella on bench, but Toszer in
Beth, I agree on the logic of Toszer as I believe (hope?) he should provide more added value than either Henry or Doughty. As regards Angella, I understand that he is a very accomplished and experienced professional who was a first team regular for Watford, thus he should provide more value as our centre back. However, that would be "rough justice" for Hall who has recently played very well, So you could be correct with only this (Toszer) change to the last starting eleven. However, we really do not know what has been going on in training for the last two weeks. We could see an agressive and offensive 4-3-3 set-up which could mean new names. When is Chris Ramsey's press conference as there could be some indicators there. If not, we have to patiently wait for the issue of the team sheet on Saturday morning.
Hope Henry enjoys being a dad as I don't think I have seen anyone put him in the team yet, I would agree with that. Hoping for a couple of changes from the last match as despite the 3 points, which yes are the main thing, but it was a touch close for my liking. The squad on paper looks fantastic and whilst we aren't going to smash teams week in week out it would be nice to see us play a few teams off the park this season, hopefully starting with Forest
Here's the new team photo that's just been released. ( Click on the image to make it bigger. ) It's a really strong looking squad. Picking the best starting Xl from that is a nice challenge for CR. I think he will stick more or less with the same team that started last time out but perhaps with one additional change. please log in to view this image
That, to me looks a seriously strong squad. I'm very happy with the way the club is progressing. Didn't know Tozser was such a big lad, both creative and physical, very good combo.
Most of the smilers are on the right side of the picture with the major exception of Luongo who looks as though he is auditioning for Goodfellas
My worry about that picture is...how relatively short our big centre forward is Is this the reason he didn't sell....when he turned up for the medical, they noticed he was 5 foot 3....and that was SWP sole purpose at the club, to make Charlie look taller
What's the worst team we could put out, without being silly re positions etc? I've come up with (4-4-2) Lumley Mackie Hall Hill Traore Gladwin Doughty Diakite Hoilett Rees Cox Polter (I don't know which position Comley plays, or if he's any good. Mackie now wants to play right back). You'd still hope that would be good enough to avoid relegation. If Diakite can control himself and offer anything like his original potential, he would be straight in the 'best' XI for me. Anyone know why Frankie Sutherland is omitted from the picture?
West London sport are reporting the Gabrielle Angella will make his debut (in place of Hall). There is no mention of Daniel Tozser . http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/...ll-miss-out-for-qpr-against-nottingham-forest
Good thread this. For the Championship League seems we have an embarrassment of riches, guess it's a nice problem to have? Damned it I know which is the best eleven to start with, but some excellent team suggestions here. Just one personal opinion, and that's all it is, but I would like to have seen the club get shot of Sandro, either transferred or loaned-out? Seems a bit of a financial liability at the moment?
Hope he gets and stays fit. He looked good in that one away game CR played him centrally at Sunderland I think, before he got injured. Will be interesting to see if he can perform at that level consistently.
