Bit off topic here but I have been massively impressed with David Cameron lately. His handling of the refugee crisis has been brilliant, I honestly thought he would do a labour and open the floodgates. 20,000 over 5 years when Germany is taking 500,000 per year, is fantastic. We are continuing to make it very difficult for people entering the country and I am extremely grateful to him, for that.

I was also impressed of his call to use a drone strike in Syria on 'British' Islamic State fighters, after parliament had voted against military force in Syria.

It was always a toss up between Conservatives and UKIP. Now I am definitely Conservative.

I'm inclined to agree with most of that apart from the bold bit.

Let's just hope he's got the bollocks to go to referendum on leaving the EU otherwise in a few years time, those Syrians will be heading in our direction with German passports and we'll not be able to do a damn thing about it.

****ing Merkel needs her head caved in.

Tories have always seemed great with overseas conflict. Still soulless bastards who target the poor, needy and elderly. Big whoop we're not accepting loads of asylum seekers. Sort adult social care and child services, it's a ****ing disgrace. That's somebodies elderly mother sitting in **** because councils don't have the budget to uphold a duty of care.

What's the point? We're not prepared for it and they haven't announced any plans to prepare for it as far as I know. That infrastructure would take a very long time to set up to put us in a stronger position to leave.

Not only that but he's saying we'll take the from the refugee camps in the middle east, not from those flooding scross Europe, meaning we'll get the chance to vet them first as to whether they're genuine refugees or economic migrants.

So our message is don't bother trying to get here on your own - you won't be let in. If your genuine we'll come and get you.

Nothing wrong with that at all imo!

As for the jaaairrmans, the only reason they're accepting so many is because they're really worried about their shrinking population and the effect on their economy. Wait till they find out that many of them won't have the same work ethic as themselves.

I don't buy that we're not prepared to go independent, we have the 5th strongest economy on the planet and our tertiary output shows we can go it alone. If the eu disbanded overnight, I'd say we are in the best position out of all members to thrive.

Give it a few years and Turkey could be in the EU... that's end game for Europe as you know it.

That economy instantly suffers when we pay a higher price for goods from the EU. Nobody in the EU wants us to leave, we will get a ****ty deal. That German Bitch will make sure of it. I think we're far too involved with Europe beyond the EU, we're financially entwined and the EU collectively can do us damage and punish us if we leave, or at least threaten us enough to deter us from leaving. We need to make more and we need to trade more with non EU countries. We're too dependent on them to break from them imo. That could change if we prepare. I want to leave it but i think we're much stronger with them than without them and that needs to change before we leave imo.

Make all migrants live in Byker for a year and see if they still want to stay after that :)

If I was a Syrian refugee, I'd stop off in Italy, personally. Good weather, good food, great booze and plenty footie.

We'll have to disagree on this one mate, if we heavily relied on exports and UK manufacturing I think I would agree. You're probably right though, we won't leave in time.

It's the import that worries me. We get so much from Europe. Aye, agree to disagree.

It's is all now getting out of hand and fast. Denmark closing borders with Germany as thousands head towards them travelling to Sweden? It's mad! Putin building up forces in Syria, 12000 IS fighters seemingly holding most of Syria, Iraq and Libya, raping and killing all non believers..
WTF is the UN and the leaders of the civilised world doing because this madness, which has been gonig on for years, will not abate and I for one seriously fear for my grandchildrens future
