The report says he was running from police, kinda instinctive to trip a person being chased by police. Although the going all Stoke and tripping everyone in sight seems she went a bit power mad

With me you only have to meet the costs of my 2up 2down in Swaythling and you wont have all my first, second and third cousins once, twice and three times removed to support. Every year we could ask Simon Cowel to hold a Britain's got a Head of State contest to find out who should succeed me. So no excessive costs for a state funeral. You can just bung me in a box in the incinerator at Bassett Green. You would be getting a brilliant head of state at virtually no cost. All the money saved could go to giving a good education to poor kids by sending them to Eton (as head of state I would insist that all public schools have a 50% intake of kids from deprived backgrounds to go with their kids from depraved backgrounds).

The aristocracy in this country is institutionally racist. There isn't a black member of the royal family and look at the stink at Longleat at the moment.

It's been two years since Ceawlin Thynn, the Viscount of Weymouth in England, has spoken to his mother—a rift caused by her disapproval over his marriage to Emma McQuiston, a former model who's the daughter of Nigerian oil tycoon Ladi Jadesimi (above).
Thynn, 41, stands to inherit his father's title as the Marquess of Bath—he took over running Longleat, the family's 10,000-acre estate and safari park in 2010, according to the Daily Mail—making McQuiston the first black marchioness in Britain.

The couple has an 11-month-old son, John, whom Thynn's mother, the Machioness of Bath, has not seen since his birth, the News Nigeria reports.
When Thynn told his mother about his plans to marry McQuiston, she reportedly replied, "Are you sure about what you're doing to 400 years of bloodline?"

I will change my mind when I see that younger prince what's his name dating a black woman. Just don't hold your breath.

Why should anyone date someone just to be politically correct.

France is the most visited country in the world and they don't have a monarch. Istanbul is a more popular tourist destination than London and they don't have a monarch.

Having a hereditary monarch prevents anyone else having that power....she/he represents all of us when meeting other heads of state with no political agenda. The monarch has never had to make dubious bargains with rich supporters in order to get elected....as American Presidents have to. And a constitutional monarch does not become a heartless autocrat as many presidents have in other countries. Blair would have stopped at nothing to get elected....gives you the creeps to think about it....people of different political persuasions can think of their own bogey men.

I think we have the best of all worlds...a head of state that represents all of us with no axe to grind, a source of pageantry to give us identity, and a real obstruction to a politician/soap star/sportsman with ambition.

Nope can't agree to any of that. The principle is just wrong. We need a better one.
