Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Jake Livermore's personal hearing was held on Wednesday of last week. He has since been told no further punishment will follow. #hcafc
Absolutley, and now he has chance to intergrate himself back into the squad slowly. I'd like to think that the whole squad will welcome him back, give him any help and support he needs (along with some dressing room banter re the drug test etc). Livermore at his finest will be like having a new signing for this long and gruelling Championship season.
I hope he's utilised his time away from the game to seek out, & follow, some form of structured counselling & therapy. Reading the report it appears, to his credit, that he's admitted to taking the drug rather than attempting to hide behind, the rumoured, low reading of the result. The club needs to integrate him back into the fold whilst closely monitoring his blood, health & well being. There'll be plenty ready to judge him & his actions but the truth is that we all react to situations in our own different way. I have nothing but sympathy for the lad, he's already lost enough for me to offer him anything else, especially not judgement. Good luck to him & his partner. Hopefully we'll all benefit from his rehabilitation.
Great news ! Good luck to him going forward and hopefully getting back to his best playing form either with us or elsewhere.
I don't know if i'm more disgusted with the outcome or the responses on here. He's taken cocaine which should have resulted in a ban. There should be no other stance to take. He was obviously not in a good way, but that shouldn't excuse him from breaking rules that everyone else abides by.
Rio Ferdinand got a 8 month ban for simply missing a test. Jake Livermore has missed about 8 competitive games and a about 2 months training.
If he took illegal drugs to enhance his performance or gain advantage, then you are quite right. But it seems he was struggling emotionally, and as I recall it, Livermore should have been shelved because he was playing awfully. All he could do is dash about. There was no advantage gained because he didn't help City gain points by taking drugs. I think this is an enlightened decision, and hopefully Jake Livermore will be enlightened too. Who knows, even you might be enlightened if you consider the circumstances and the outcome.
I actually agree & feel he should have faced at least a 2 year ban (losing a baby is no excuse to hit Cocaine......alcohol or antidepressants maybe but not cocaine) Best thing we can do now is get him fit & sell him for whatever we can get for him....however based on his performances in a Hull City shirt I doubt there will be a queue of clubs after him, even at a bargain price
You're disgusted by a few posts supporting one of our players because he snorted a few lines of bugle when he was in a dark place mentally? Really? Drama Queen alert Pity you didn't have any disgust when your ex manager was acting like an utter **** week in week out. Take your faux disgust and **** off you boring tit.
13 competitive games and five pre-seasons so far. The other two players who tested positive the same week got three month bans, without any mitigating circumstances. Ferdinand didn't miss a test, he missed four tests and got an extended ban for taking the piss.
