I think most Arsenal fans don't mind having Giroud in the squad, he just needs help, so the blame for most of the stick Giroud gets, should also lie with Wenger.
Most people, if not all, aren't blaming Giroud. He himself said Arsenal should sign another striker. We all lay the blame at one person.
I was thinking of another post from Sanj who ripped into Giroud for being mentally weak. The main issue is he is playing at the best of his ability and unfortunately it's not quite good enough for a big club like Arsenal. But you guys are right, the responsibility lies with the manager to do something about it. For me he appears to be papering over the cracks, rather than taking a decisive step and going all out. Players like Welbeck, Walcott, Sanchez (as CF) and Sanogo are not the solution. They merely inflate the numbers and do not provide an alternative CF. But hopefully Giroud will prove us all wrong and start smashing in the goals and get 20+ in the Prem. If he does that then we will have a chance of winning the league
I doubt you'll be finding the funny side of it if/when he does this at club level! I agree with the sentiment that it's not his fault he isn't good enough and he does seem to make an effort, but we need to be honest here because some of the chances that he has missed, at the top level, isn't acceptable from a striker. And the thing is although he had a good conversion rate last season, he is still capable of some horrific misses. So whilst I do think Wenger deserves a large portion of the blame for not bringing in another striker to help Giroud, some of it has to go to the player for not being able to finish properly (at times) when he's playing at the top level of football.
Sounds like a barnstormer at Wembley I'm missing. I'm sure Hodgson has seen all the positives and he's getting his final squad moulded for the world cup qualification group next autumn. If only Charlton could have played in as many meaningless drivel international matches in his day then Rooney wouldn't have gotten near his record.
Just back and it was a shocker. Especially when you consider a number of them were supposed to be playing for a place in the final squad/team. None of them deserved more than 4/10 tbh. Most entertainment on the night was from the excellent Swiss support. They never stopped throughout the whole game and drowned out the 70 thousand (est) England supporters.
The English national anthem is so ****. God save the ****ing Queen ? The Sex Pistols got it right about her. I'd much rather we had an anthem that celebrated our country and land rather than some dodgy shoehorned German aristocratic family. Something like Jerusalem or even a new adaptation of one of William Blake or Wordsworth's or Coleridge's poems would be much more fitting.
I think most of the English footballers share your view when you see the 'passion' they sing that song with.
Also as for anthems in general, I thought Brazil's and Chile's were pretty epic in the 2014 World Cup.
I have to say, I usually like something about the majority of countries anthems, but I despise God Save the Queen and have to mute it whenever it's on...
I like the Russian one. It seems to tell a story of great struggle and upheaval. But agree with God save the queen, it's pants.
As much as I like the royal family, god save the queen is such a dull song! We could use something with a bit more energy.
