Livermore hasn't been in a position to be able to express anything. So what bearing would him being unable to communicate anything at all possibly have?
Livermore joined Hull for £8million from Tottenham and was looking to regain a place in Roy Hodgson's England squad up until events in his private life took a turn for the worse. I hope the rest of their story isn't such bollocks.
If he plays for us again, I'll welcome him back with open arms. People make mistakes and are more likely to make mistakes when they are not in the right frame of mind. I've never lost a child and I hope to God I never have to go through the pain Jake and his family have gone through.
Would he even get in our team? I don't think he's any better than Meyler. He's up there as one of our worst ever signings at £8 million. He can battle it out with Huddlestone for a place on the bench for me.
If Livermore can get back to his best of 2013/14 then he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet, as he was that season in the PL. Some of you have short memories. It's all down to him. The club can give him help and guidance but ultimately it's the player that will decide which level of football he wishes to play, if indeed he wants to play again.
It may not be over yet, as the referenced article mentions "Events around the death of his baby are still subject to ongoing legal action and cannot be reported". Surely until that is done and dusted and any outcomes sorted you wouldn't think he would be in any better state. He can hardly put it behind him and try to move on when it will still be so prominent in his life at the present time.
He might not have been worth £8m (in fact he wasn't), but at least now we haven't lost all that £8m. I assume he'll now resume training, the club will surely put out some sort of statement shortly.
He's served his punishment whilst being out of the action. He wasn't with us during the dying embers of last season, so he owes us some performances now I think. Wipe the slate clean, back him, and let's get him back to form.
Hardly. If everyone was at their 'best' that we've seen in a City shirt then Diame & Huddlestone would be our midfield two still in a 4-4-2, both of them have far more ability than Jake. It's not a short memory. Just like Tom, Livermore has had 4 good months and 15 **** one's in a City shirt. It's hardly an impressive record. Meyler has been far more impressive, as was Quinn last season, when Livermore was dreadful.
Livermore is the Marney type figure we are missing a bit, I think Championship is his level if he can get fit. I agree he was dire last season and given that most footballers play their best when they are trying to put off-the-field stuff out of their minds there isn't any improvement to come but he can still fill a big fat Huddlestone type hole better than Blubberstone himself
Well I hope he is given a second chance and i will cheer him on 100% if and when he is back in the team. It is incomprehensible to know what it is like to lose a child, my mother lost a daughter at an early age (before i was born) and it had a profound impact on her for many many years and i am sure Jake and his missus are no different.
Us fans have no idea of what has gone on so it's pointless speculating. I'd expect him to have been doing some training though to keep himself in shape. He always was a fit lad so I can't imagine him coming back with a belly
If you're worried about his ability to perform while big things are happening off the pitch, it might be worth remembering how well he played in that Palace game at which he failed the test... http://www.not606.com/threads/mom-123-palace-a.298324/
I doubt his fitness levels will be way down. He's an athlete, and athletes find it very hard to sit on their butts doing nothing. So I'd imagine he would have been keeping himself pretty fit, albeit not match fit but again that would only be a matter of a 3/4 weeks before he could maybe come in the same way as Diame was bought back into the side.
