  1. Yep, great shout <ok>

Makes me laugh when we get called bitter with these things though. I said the same thing when Gerrard broke our European scoring record. Who was a better striker, Gerrard or Rush? No comparison really, one just got a hell of a lot more games.

No one is saying he's the best at anything, just lauding the fact that he's become the highest ever England goalscorer. Those seeking to belittle the achievement are bitter (not including you in that tbf)

Very bitter that we chose one ex-evertonian over another as the better striker for England.<laugh>

David Healy's 36 while playing for NI and still reigning euro qualification king goal scorer is worthy of a mention lol...since almost half his club career was coming from the bench..

One more win just one more win........:emoticon-0169-dance

I never said he was the best England striker. You must have been reading someone else's post.

From the players I saw play it would be Lineker. Overall you can't really argue with Greaves's record.

He was a real enigma Healy. Looked a totally different player in the international arena.

Yeah think that was part of the problem. That and he suffered twice from being brought to a club by one manager, started well but then a new manager came in and didn't rate him..

King David Healy... 10th anniversary of his goal against England was Monday... not that we hold on to past glory <laugh>

Think Healy was in truth an average player with a decent shot... but the difference was he genuinely loved playing for NI and identified with the fans... he went into games feeling like 'the' man for NI.
For international records you can't beat Puskas.... 84 in 85 for Hungary.

Have you ever considered therapy to try and work out the root cause of your anger and why you hate absolutely everyone and everything that isn't connected to Liverpool FC? Constantly being enraged isn't healthy.

If he doesn't win a World Cup then even if he does beat the current record he will never be better than Pele or Ronaldo.

Reason why people still say Maradona is better than Messi, because of the World Cup.

Rooney may have the record but it's Bobby Charlton that made the difference.

Ive been doing some soul searching today in an attempt to give Rooney the credit he deserves. What I have come up with is that his power and directness have given him a lng and successful premiet league career. However his complete lack of touch has meant he is useless inthe inter national game and his place in the england team has been to our detriment for years.
