The lad is still a free agent by the way and is recovering from his injury...
There are whispers today that Willo may go out on an emergency loan if we can get this lad in.
I've always rated him and we have a few other Dutch lads at the club so maybe... just maybe...

Would be good on a free depending on added on fee's but a massive upgrade on Willo probably a bit better than Saylor too! My only worry would be who will be dropped to accommodate his arrival?

The guy's on a free, it would be possible to add him as a squad player.

Possibly but I'd worry that Mbemba would be dropped in all honesty as he's young and inexperianced.

Yeah I'd take him but I'd prefer someone not returning from such a bad injury, a bit younger. Is he that good? I know he had a good world cup, but that was two summers ago. Look at how some of his dutch contemporaries have gone backwards since. I was never that impressed when he was at Villa. He has always seemed pretty injury prone too.

Not convinced he's the answer to be honest.

I wish we'd gone after that Danish lad Kjaer when he left Germany. Think he ended up at Lille before heading to Turkey. He was a proper nasty bastard and had a real presence about him.

    Vlaar's a donkey.

Simon Kjaer, went for £7m to Fenerbahce. We were busy giving Colo a new contract.....

I liked him when I watched the Danes. I watched a bit of him when he was at Lille too, and he was always one of their best performers (they had a fairly solid defence). I think he probably had his sights set a bit higher than us. Fenerbache seem a really well run club and have a reputation for going the extra mile for their players, and their families. And there was that story where they saw the vid of the little RVP fan who burst into tears when they heard he Man U had sold him. So they flew the whole family out and kitted them out in shirts etc, then got him a personal introduction to RVP. Pretty classy PR.

He's probably only mid 20's Kjaer.

Nice story. You wouldn't necessarily assume that kind of attitude from more or less any club, but I think/guess Fener have money and obviously a rich history.

    He's 26, to be precise.

Guys, IMHO Vlarr is still way ahead of Willo and Saylor so on a free... at say £50k pw, that has got to be seen as a bargain move surely?
At his age he may still have sell on value so let's look at a 3 year span:

    36 months x £50k = £7.8m over 3 years total cost.
For Willo or Saylor they have to be on at least £25k pw so the incremental cost will be £3.9m on the wage bill.
At the end of 3 years if he is no better than average then you sell him... for around £4m and effectively he step up in player has cost you next to nowt.
What I'm saying is... he's worth a punt.

In 3 years time he'll be 33 years and 7 months. Don't think he'd be worth much to be honest, not really sell on value there more of a "do we extend his contract or just let him go" situation. I think he's an upgrade on our defensive cover but I think I'm an upgrade on our defensive cover. Yes, get rid of Willo, please for the love of god. He could do a solid job and it means we would have 3 CB's I was ok with (plus Dummett who looks better at CB).

Out injured until the new year at least is what I last heard about Vlaar. On that basis no we don't want to sign him on loan. We can do business (or preferably not) in January.
