Being a big club is overrated, ask Forest or Leeds. It's about today and now, there's no money in that past, all the money is here and now. Palace are better than the Mags all over the pitch, better than us, better than the teams who finished around us. That's all that matters. No room for sentiment or past glories when a season is worth 80m.
Spot on bri. Leefs and forrest were 2 i was thinking of. For every safc top i see here i see ten leeds. Starting to many more chelsea and city. But both are nowt compared to man u and liverpool.
That's by no means set in stone, that's your opinion. They remind me of Blackpool under Holloway in that season they come up. They've added one very good player in CM but they don't have a single great striker, a single great defender, or a great keeper in my opinion. I seriously think the wheels could come off at any time for Palace, they're two injuries (Bolasie and Cabaye) away from looking like one of the weakest squads in the league.
It's not set in stone no, things can change and they can change quickly. But they're better than both at the minute imo. Us and the Mags are two injuries from relegation. The wrong men get hurt and Newcastle and Sunderland would be ****ed
They are playing better football as a team for sure, the league table doesn't lie. Everybody's tip for an outside bet, I'd say to that though, go look at the table from this time last year I think a certain Aston Villa were sitting in a similar position to Palace after some similar results including IIRC an away victory at Anfield. Pace will undo teams at the beginning of any season, that's what they have a lot of, I can see them falling away over the next few games.
They were my surprise team before a ball was kicked but some of the pundits have predicted them a silly finish, people talking about 5th. I think they'll finish top half but nowhere near a place in Europe.
Incredibly lucky and got the rub of the green against Norwich in their opener and played Chelsea during a mid-Mourinho brain fart, I suppose you can only beat what's put in front of you and they did win those two games. They should be mid-table ish. Top 5 is a joke, Merson is a ****ing muppet.
What a tit...A bit like McClain having a dig at us by saying WBA are the biggest club he has played for..
At the risk of sounding repetitive, they also have an idiot as manager. They are a good side, I just think he will find a way of blowing it all up
Not again You all sound like that girl who pretends she's not bothered about her ex, but all she does is still talk about him. Pardew is a decent manager, took Newcastle to 5th which no other manager will do and generally had you around mid table whilst never having the sort of transfer window money Steve McClaren has been given. He was always battling against the fans and got barely any support from the Chairman but yet continued to do a decent job. He has now gone to a very good Crystal Palace team and has improved them again by adding that little bit extra to them. He is also now the favourite with the bookies to become next England manager. I don't like him, I think he's a dirty rotten creep. He's proving that he is a very decent manager though.
I don't agree, I think he's one of the worst tacticians in the game today. As a man manager, he seems very, very good. He befriends his players and gets pally with them to the point where they will graft for him, but he just doesn't have any tactical prowess, he's completely redundant once a few injuries hit his squads. He's a pathetic little ****ing weasel, I loved it when Fergie took him apart... "Wee club"
