Can't see them getting much out of their match with Germany tomorrow either they've not qualified for a finals since I've lived up here, so I get bragging rights most summers, which normally ends up slapping me in the face when England under-perform in their usual manner! I'd love them to qualify, as it would be a fab piss-up
I certainly hope both Northern Ireland and Wales qualify and without scraping through play-offs, no-one gave them a prayer at the start so well done both just to be in such contention. Scots may have blown it, Strachan taking justifiable stick for not picking Griffiths and he's not picked him for tonight's starting line-up...
Scotland just got lucky equaliser against Germans, but Ireland still in pole position for playoff place -would be great if all home nations qualified
No - **** knows why not though, although I'm biased, he's far better than most of the players they've got on the pitch. Maybe Mackie could get a game too if he got himself fit enough! (Only added that in because I know how much you love him!) Germans now 2-1 up, awful defending by LB leaving flank totally exposed
No, rather bizarrely. Austin made a reference about it on Soccer AM declaring Scotland's madness at not picking him. 2-1 to Germany now.
Would you mind not repeatedly posting just before me and basically copying what I'm saying Mr Monkey.
Germans don't look too solid at the back, think Phillips would be a real threat for Scotland against them
But was it entertaining? Rather see two teams having a go at each other than one team sticking eleven men in defence whilst the other team pass the ball around the middle of the park trying to find a way through. Yes, the result for England was great, but it wasn't a great game
Finland won again! This time against the mighty Faroe Islands....Well, still have a chance in theory.
Going by that synopsis, I think it's fair to say that it wasn't England's fault that they served up that dross. Virtually any team's hard to break down when they park the bus and have no ambition to score.
True, but that game tonight was far more entertaining - even though Scotland never looked like threatening to score in the second half, they made a match of it, and it was far more entertaining than England game. Hopefully a better game tomorrow night as Switzerland still have plenty to play for.
