I have every admiration for him as a driver, and as a British driver he gives me pride. However, his monumental ego and vanity means I just don't like him very much as a person. That is different from hate.
That will never. Piss me off ! Though I doagree with Sir Jackie Stewart , that you can only really compare drivers from the same era . Hamilton s though , a brilliant driver .
Ah, something I can comment on. Michael Schumacher's earlier career was during the tail end of my time eagerly watching F1. He was undoubtedly a great driver. Indeed, one of the the greatest. He was also a very fortunate driver, and he drove with teammates who most assuredly had to drive to make sure he won. Schumacher also drove for Ferrari [apart from Benetton] and they had an awful lot of clout with the FIA in those days. So with the dice loaded in Schumacher's favour I'm not at all disappointed that a British driver may overtake his record of GP wins, though it would have been nicer to have a better individual doing it. Its a slight shame that Hamilton isn't a better human being, but then I don't actually care about the business of F1 these days, and I don't delve into Hamilton's private time either, even though I have to dodge the stuff being thrown at me in the sporting media every fortnight. If it disappeared off the racing calendar I'd be quite disappointed for you people, because I know how much you get involved, but personally I wouldn't give a toss, and it would take away Hamilton as a role model for younger people, so there could be quite an upside for me, all told.
Why is it if you appreciate him as a phenomenal driver but a tool, you get grouped in some non-group as a 'hater'? It's quite possible to be able to separate talent from personality. As I said previously, Ronaldo.
Spoiler They've cast some Northern Lords for next series, apparently Umber and Karstark. My bet is they show up with Rickon Stark to take out the Boltons. TV show Stannis is gone, thoguh, and good riddance.
I used to really like him. When he first came on the scene he came across as talented and really quite modest and thankful for the position he'd attained in life. I liked him a great deal. Then he just started to ratchet up his desire to be seen as cool. And many people went off him. So, we seem to have a great (truly great) driver developing what is becoming a pretty pitifully fame-desperate character. Shame. The really sad thing is that 99% of racing drivers are cool without any effort whatsoever. Vin
Nail on the head Vin. I used to REALLY like him too - I remember watching him driving GP2 at Silverstone. Already knew about his talent but he really owned the place that day. But then..... .....as you say.
Yes - agree. My boy came across him when he was in Formula Ford and he said he was a well grounded, decent bloke who was happy to spend time with junior drivers and give them the benefit of his experience. As you say, now he's just become a self serving tool and it's such a shame. The greatest modern driver, in my opinion, was and always will be Ayrton. I will never forget that lap at Donnington ......
Going in for the Windows 10 update this morning. Chewing fingernails frantically ........ And it keeps telling me to "Sit back and relax"!
That'll be me going through my Dutch proxy allowing me to see it. Didn't think abou tthat when I posted the link. Vin
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Civil_War#/media/File:Syrian_civil_war.png No wonder Syria is a total mess look at this map. US media reports said Russia has sent advisers and hardware to Syria, in what Washington fears is an expansion of its support for President Bashar al-Assad. Any such development would "escalate the conflict", Mr Kerry told his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov. Russia has been a key ally of Syria throughout its four-year civil war. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-34166623 Hmm Assad is a disgusting human being but if I had to choose between him and ISIS then I would have to choose him.
Dave . If you click the link once , then again where it says see it on you tube , automatically takes you to the video . For the record , Senna was my idol ( before him it was Pironi ) . when he passed away I started supporting teams , first Jordan ( calm your self LTL ) . Sine they folded / became another team it has been Williams . Always admired Sir Frank and the Bulldog AKA Sir Patrick Head for the way they treat drivers as members of the team & not superstars .
