That's interesting. Do you mean where Haworth Park is now, or where Tesco is? I've just had a Google and can't find anything.
Yes, then Hull Grammar School in 1966, hence the alias. Did you go to Endike also? I did for infants and juniors. Where Emmott Road is now, leading to Haworth Park. There may have been Germans there too as used to work during vacations in the 70's at Wiles Fertiliser factory with a German who stayed here after the war and married a local girl, lovely bloke.
I didn't know that. Unfortunately it's not where the site on the picture is or it would have cleared it up for me.
There is a logic reason. Even Avenues are on one side of Greenwood and the odd one's on the other. It's on Chanterlands Avenue, now called 'Steve's Cycles'
Except 37th. I'd heard that's because the main road initially went down Westway, but I don't know if that's true. Given there's a 37th Ave. I read recently about the numbering, and it spoke of 33 numbered streets. Anyone know if that's wtong, or which are missing before I Google?
3rd, 13th and 35th by the look of the link. I wonder why. There must be more as there's 40th Ave. http://hull.streetmapof.co.uk
Aye, and Bickerton and Wetherby for 39th and 35th. That'd fit. I don't know who or what they were named after.
I've just been looking on google maps at the area and saw this https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.7803595,-0.3828764,18z Got high here it was ace nice crack Jon
