4-2-3-1 With our current squad if we sign another striker 4-4-2

    -----------------------------Krul---------------------------------
    Simmo---------Saylor-------------------Colo-------------Enrique
    ----------------Cabaye------------------Tiote--------------------
    Barton---------------------Ben Arfa--------------Jonas/Marveaux
    -------------------------------Ba---------------------------------

  2. This is my current order of strikers -

    Ba
    Best
    Lover
    Shola

Lover is a much better player for the style we're trying to play. Lover works hard, has pace, can pass and link up well, and is effective with a good partner. Lover suffered last season because Amoebi is ****, when Best was playing, Lover was far more effective as he had a player that actually wins things in the air regularly, and a player than can pass quite well and has decent pace and works hard.

I don't know whether Best should be ahead of Ba or not, but we'll just have to see who looks better Pre-season.

with Sturridge i'd say 4-3-1-2 with Ben Arfa behind them and a midfield trio of Cabaye, Tiote and Barton. However we may lack a bit of width

I'd put Shola ahead of Loven, because he's unsuited for a lone striker role

  5. I'd play neither Shola or Loven as a lone striker, Lover is weak by himself, and Shola is **** full stop.

I'd play Lover if we decide to rotate and reform the team a bit, or bring him on as an impact player to link up with a striker. I don't think we'll get enough goals simply playing a lone striker all season, i think at some point we'll need to play 4-4-2.

    I'd rather play 1-3-2-3-1..

    ---------------------------Krul/Harper/Forster-----------------------------
    -------------------------------Colo (as Sweeper)------------------------
    Simpson-------------------------Taylor------------------Enrique/whoever we have for LB
    ---------------------Cabaye-------------Tiote---------------------------
    Barton----------------------------HBA------------------------Gutierrez/Marveaux
    ----------------------------------Ba-----------------------------------------

    I've always loved having a sweeper :)

We want a big guy to play up front with Ben Arfa, but if injuries forced the situation, perhaps Lovenkrands and Vuckic could work. Same principle except the striker would be the smaller player. Dont think we'd ever come to that situation of course as it would require about 5 injuries but could try it in the cup.

I hope this season we play more football on the ground with technical players like Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Marveaux and even Gutierrez, so i think Ba will be suited for that type of lone striker roll, sort of Drogba like, just nowhere near as good haha.

  9. Vuckic? Don't let his size fool you mate, he wins less in the air than Ameobi.

Hmm, I base my opinion of him on more than half a game against Darlington played out of position though so I'm inclined to ignore this.

  11. I base my opinion on every game he's played for us so far mate.

He was ok vs Carlisle last preseason when he scored a goal, but he was **** vs Arsenal in the cup and **** against Darlington.

If you look at the German team at the last world cup Klose was a big lump upfront for them, but they were awesome because they had 3 excellent attacking midfielders playing behind him in a 4231

I thought he was really good v Arsenal, considering it was him and Ranger leading the line. Good v Chelsea as well. Very tidy player.

Stop doing that ****, telling people they are wrong but it's OK because they are allowed an opinion. Your thoughts arent the be all and end all of a discussion.

I hope Vuckic does come good though because he could be a beast eventually if he gets his game together, also got hope for Sammy Ameobi, Yven Moyo and Kazenga Lua Lua, we have a couple of good youngsters coming through, and if they get some first team experience could become established first teamers in the future.
