So it's Cardiff City away on Aug 8th Brighton HA at home 15th Aug Hull City away on 18th Aug http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2015/june/17/fixtures-announcement
Tough start with those August fixtures. Spetember should be the telling one though with 3 home games; the last being against QPR! The one that really caught my eye was the penultimate game of the season - away to Brentford. Will we be surfing at the top or sweating at the bottom by then? The one that really irritates me is Derby away on Boxing Day ... what happened to the "derby" tradition? QPR are away to Ipswich and Charlton away to Bristol City that day !!
Blimey this Division is hard enough without having to keep up with all the fixture changes this early. These ones have been announced by the Club today: Cardiff City v Fulham Will now kick-off at the earlier time of 12pm. The date remains the same – Saturday 8th August. Fulham v Leeds United Will now take place on Wednesday 21st October (7.45pm), previously scheduled for Tuesday 20th October. Fulham v Reading Will now kick-off at the earlier time of 1.30pm. The date remains the same – Saturday 24th October. Fulham v Rotherham United Will now take place on Tuesday 29th December (7.45pm), previously scheduled for Monday 28th December. The game against Cardiff is presumably because there's a Wales v Ireland rugby match the same day - goodness knows why that could not have been anticipted before drawing Cardiff at home. No idea why the other changes are necessary, unless it's down to the TV lot.
Hmm... might work that Tuesday then and pop along afterwards. If I do that, what are the odds the date is changed again?
Yet more changes, already: Hull City v Fulham Will now take place on Wednesday 19th August (7.45pm), previously scheduled for Tuesday 18th August. Fulham v Queens Park Rangers Will now take place on Friday 25th September (7.45pm) after being selected for live broadcast by Sky Sports. Previously scheduled for Saturday 26th September. Brighton & Hove Albion v Fulham Will now take place on Friday 15th April (7.45pm), previously scheduled for Saturday 16th April. Thanks very much Sky Sports. That change to the QPR game could be an absolute 'B' for me .. will now have to exercise extreme domestic diplomacy or be damned for not trying.
Here we go again - Fulham v Blackburn Rovers Will now take place on Sunday 13th September (12pm), originally due to be played on Saturday 12th September at 3pm. Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers Originally scheduled for the following Tuesday 15th September, has been pushed back 24 hours to Wednesday 16th September, kick-off at 7.45pm. These changes are because Sky want to televise the Blackburn game, presumably because of Tom Cairney's transfer.
I feel for you Cottager but that change to the QPR game means I can now go as I was due to fly out on holiday on the Saturday morning!!!!
Another change - feel for those guys that booked a boat for the Saturday. "Fulham’s game against Charlton Athletic at The Valley in October has been selected for live television coverage on Sky Sports. This means that the match will now take place on Sunday 4th October (12pm), having originally been scheduled for the Saturday."
Our game against Wolves scheduled for 16th September has been moved to 29th September. Thanks to Chelsea having a Euro Champs game on the 16th against Maccabi Tel Aviv and the police bothered about resources/health & safety. I suppose, while no doubt affecting travel for some and annoying, if anything this change slightly helps our fixture congestion at the end of the month.
Hasn't realised that QPR are also scheduled to play on the 16th (v Blackburn). And fair play to Wolves for offering full refunds to fans who can't now make the match. Wonder if our lot will do similar?
Having already been hacked-off about Mid-day Sunday KOs (for many it affects Sunday morning football), I realise that we have a 2 month gap without a Saturday home match: 22nd August vs Huddersfield until 24th October vs Reading - and that's at 13:30! Another example of TV money vs real fans, and future fans.
I get what you're saying but TV is the only way I get to see Fulham live most seasons. I still consider myself a 'real fan' but location, work and other factors often make it impossible for me to get over to see Fulham. Football is international. Televised matches are a good thing for the club, especially a club like Fulham who have a large international fanbase.
I couldn't agree more FI and also note that it is the TV money that fuels our sport. Ok, players would be of lower value but so would training and match day facilities.
