I think you'll find it was Trevor Chappell, not Lillie who bowled to Brian McKechnie :emoticon-0138-think

Fully agree mate, anybody that has played cricket knows that when a ball is thrown at you from that close of a distance the natural reaction is to put the hand up and protect the body. It's instinct. By the law of the game, it was out. In the spirit of cricket, he should have been called back.

He came on as a sub mate. Was a good game but was going inbetween the cricket and rugby all the time. At one point i thought Ben Stokes scored a try against Ireland lol..

Always good to see a player cross codes but they tend to cross back over eventually! The Tomkins brothers all played for Wigan Warriors all 3 of them. Then joel crossed over to union and played for England. Sam Tomkins played in the NRL last year.

Heaps have crossed over, well Aussies anyway, Wendall Sailor, Matty Rogers. Israel Folau, Timana tahu.. Now we've got Jarryd hayne in the NFL. Also rugby league players to play AFL were Karmichael Hunt and Israel Folau. Anyone who says our (rugby league) players aren't gifted are full of themselves.. Andy Farrell did a good job for the poms too!

Possibly the worst decision I have ever witnessed in all my years of watching cricket..

Probably not, but who knows what would have happened had those two went on to create a decent partnership..

Read my previous post 56 mate.. You guys were cruising but lost 4 cheap wickets.. As Mackem Tiz Said you'd prob still lost it.. Are the press making such a big deal outta it because of the loss? If you'd won, would we even be hearing this?

To be honest I have not read any of the papers. I was just going by what I saw on Sky Sports, and I can honestly say I have never saw a decision like it.

Yeah they blamed the loss on the stokes wicket.. I haven't seen a decision like that either, to be fair mate if I was Aussie Captain I would've withdrawn the appeal. Thinking about it today over a couple bourbons I reckon we still deserved the win.. England had their chances, they'll be better for the run <ok>

Didn`t comment because I didn`t see it mate. I was out & about and didn`t get to watch it.

Seen plenty of other peoples comments but haven`t been able to find a link to the footage to form my own opinion.

I didn't see it mate. I was watching the England rugby game, then the football.

I kept an eye on the score on my phone down the pub.

I can only go by what others have said, that it was in the rules of the game but not the spirit.

So whilst I aways try to be objective my final view would be "You dirty cheating bastards"!!!! <laugh><laugh><laugh>

Its just that as a stout Englishman with certain values I found Mr Smiths inability to uphold the spirit of cricket vexed me somewhat and whilst I would refrain from calling him a cheating Aussie bastard I can see why your ancestors were deported - good day to you sir
