Let's hope De Gea sorts his head out and can get back in the team to be like a 'new' signing because I can't say I'm anything but underwhelmed with todays business considering the players that have left.

What if we had made all our summer signings today?

We've made some fantastic signings. There is no doubt. We've also binned a few players who simply had to go. We've made Real Madrid look like idiots too.

Its by no means perfect but there's plenty to be positive about.

Doubt De Gea will play in the first team much at all this season, unless he suddenly decides to sign a new contract.

Why spend all that time and effort making him part of a stable back five when he is off in the summer? Much better to try and get Romero used to playing with the defence so we can avoid any disruption next year.

The disruption will be caused by the acute ****ness of Romero. It will be evident in every game in which the opposition tries to score a goal. Seriously mate, he's terrible.

Don't get me wrong I was happy with the earlier business.

Issues we have had with centre midfield for the last ..... years have finally been addressed.

Darmian looks quality but I was happy with Rafa who LVG never really fancied.

I think I was just expecting some replacements who could step straight into the first team to come in following some of the earlier departures (Falcao, RVP)and those in the last few days of Evans, Hernandez which have left us abit light in certain areas.

It's not like the money received is really needed - would it have killed us to keep Chicha as back up for Rooney whilst Martial finds his feet?

If Rooney gets badly injured on international duty then surely he's better upfront for a few months than Fellaini/Martial?

Real are too smart for their own good. They wanted to play (still want to) De Gea.

Hope DeGea understands the truth and signs with you lot. Seriously Real screwed him over.
For Real - Peanuts (20+ Million) more important than him?

How stupid DeGea can be, if he cannot see this obvious?
Understand he wants to go to Madrid. He can bide his time and go back to Atleti perhaps in few years.

Cannot serioulsy believe Darmian is an upgrade over Silva.

Darmian is better defensively but to sell Rafa for £2+m was ridiculous and has again left us with only one proper right back.

Its a step up from no right backs tbf. Rafa was injured 70% of the time. Unfortunate as he was one of my faves

Rafael was very good going forwards. Defensively he was suspect and he was a red card waiting to happen. His transfer fee was laughable though.

Most defenders live on a knife edge like this, one silly slip and the rest of the game is a gamble.

Diego, It wasn't one off. He was let go three or four times after he got the first yellow. those were so obvious 2nd yellows. He would have amassed 4 or 5 yellows any other day. So, I don't see the comparison to Silva.

He's a better defender to Rafael. It's that simple.

    He's like a £29m season long loan + wages
For a lad who doesn't want to play for Utd that's great business

No offence but that's the kind of ill thought out WUM comment that London's Tiniest Gonads posts.

DDG will go on a free at the end of the season but at no point has he cost United £29million for his services this season. £18million plus wages across four seasons would be more accurate.
