Not particularly pleased that we've only got 3 wingers at the moment. Reports that we were willing to shell out another 12m Euros on a winger makes me think that Ranieri isn't either.
Seems as though Dyer was the backup if the £12m man didn't go through, we have 4 wingers now with Dyer Mahrez Albrighton and Schlupp.
there is a difference though. A winger in a 4-4-2 is very different to a winger in a 4-3-3. Whilst I don't think he is at his best out wide in a 4-3-3, in a 4-4-2 I may go as harsh as declaring him useless?
I can't remember the formation we used - I suspect it was 3-5-2 - but he was playing on the right wing. Could have been only playing there due to an injury still stands that he can play there if need be.
He'd make an emergency winger, nothing more. His crossing, while good on occasion (eg. against Man Utd, where everything he touched turned to gold) is too inconsistent to play there regularly. Then again, Lloyd Dyer and Schlupp managed to play wide in a 4-4-2 on many occasions and their delivery was hardly Beckham-esque.
