65 page Mag thread, you'll be surprised what it's about (or maybe you won't)

It's been a very quite day, so I've had a wander other teams boards, and as expected some teams fans are very active, as you'd expect the usual teams boards are heaving, Liverpool, Man U. etc. etc. Most of the banter involves transfer targets, tactics and generally everything footy related. Some for example, like the Villa board is as dead as a Big Chris appreciation thread. I even had a quick peak at the mags board (not my usual place to visit, but I thought why the hell not - we have regular visitations from certain mags).

So in the middle of the usual banter I see a 65 page thread about..................Rep. Now seriously? I've had a laugh at their expense before about rep being the be all and end all of their time on this forum, but does no one over there think that 65 pages of mutual masturbation, verbal rimming and increasing each others reputation is such a waste of time, I mean the fact they do this makes the rep system so pointless that it may as well be scrapped?

Still if it keeps the little chaps happy, then who am I to judge them?

The only good thing (as far as I can see) about the rep system, is that you know when you've annoyed the mags (usually with the truth) is when they leave laughably funny negative comments, like it really hurts anybody who doesn't give a **** about reputation? I don't care about it in real life so why should it bother me on an internet forum.

Quite right. Also, I think age comes into it. I get the distinct impression that the majority of them are pubescent, so they're quite excitable.

I thought it was fairly harmless and some good amusing craic, and if it pre-occupies them and keeps them from wumming on our board I think it should be encouraged.

But rep for rep sake will just make it an irrelevance, as NUFC63 says
