If you create a thread that has absolutely no credibility, then don't cry when it's pointed out to you.

Now,had you posted that Monk shows great promise, and one day, perhaps, will rival the truly great Managers, viz, those who have actually achieved something tangible, like winning trophies,I would have posted something different.

The fact that the team he manages has had some good results against so called bigger/better teams, and slightly tinkered with the style of play that was created by others, etc.,does not make him great,in any sense.

You need to try harder. I know it's difficult for you,but give it a go. You may get to like yourself. There would then be at least one person who does. <laugh>

Nobody is saying monk will be the next manager but a future manager and i for one can fully understand. What he has achieved with the club in a very short time has made many top managers and owners sit up and take notice and the praise he is getting for someone so young is remarkable. You usually get that sort of praise for players but rarely for a manager, Like i said earlier monk is being tipped as a future English manager and if he carry's on managing and getting results then he will get the job sooner than what we all think.....

I would say he's the best English manager in the premier league right now, and if the team continues to go up the table instead of down in the next couple of seasons then I can see him being in a very short list of managers who could replace Hodgson.

Having young hungry ambitious managers is surely the way to go not only for clubs but national managers as well. It pains me to say it but Coleman is doing well, I don't like him very much, but results count and I am eating my words with him.

I have always liked Coleman for the simple reason he is a Swansea lad and an ex swans player......once a jack always a jack but not for players like Michu who says he dont want to play for us, that statement disqualifies him from being a true jack bastard...imo

I agree on Coleman, Jager. I also thought he was a terrible appointment but it's not just the Bale factor imo - Wales are tough to beat these days and we look solid at the back.

Handbags at dawn, duck everybody, Wibbles swinging <laugh>

Wibble, you didn't read the link posted then? Obviously not, I wonder what the literary equivalent of 'look before you leap' is? I'm sure you can find that out while doing the homework I set you.

Anywhoooo, Wibble, in case you're not sure what the task I set you is, here it is again:

"........research when Pellegrini, Wenger, Maurinho, Van Gaal won their first cups and also the team they won them with. Importantly research how long they were managing when they won their said awards. Also find out how long they have been managers for"
Chop, chop, there's a good boy. No time limit but a sentence for each will suffice. In saying that though please do not reduce your opinions any lower by simply going to wikipedia to cut'n'paste an answer, that will simply make you appear incapable.

    On a more positive note
I'm glad to see you've heeded my advice and not Doctor my original post you replied to because, as I've explained to you, doctoring anothers view by taking out original text and replacing the original text with your own words, as you have done in the past, smacks of desperation and shows little respect for the truth, let alone yourself. So, well done you for not doctoring my quote this time, good boy <ok>

Give Monk 100-300 million to spend each year and we'll destroy everyone in the league. It's easy to win the league with such riches at your disposal <doh>

Very Swansea like last season imo. We just lack the overall attacking quality that we have at Swansea. If only Coleman had a Gylfi, Gomis and Montero.

I can see Coleman becoming our manager one day.

God I hope not, he's got the cream of the crop now, but he doesn't instil in me any faith as a premier league manager

There's no guarantee that such riches would win the league. Just look at all the money that is spent by quite a few Club's,but only one can actually win.

He was mooted for The Swans job not so long ago,but stated he wasn't interested in it.
His family live in the city, and he feared reprisals against them by angry fans,if things went tits up at the Club.

You've misunderstood the gist of the article. On current displays and with limited finances, pound for pound Monk is right up there as possibly the best manager in the league.
You can compare it to the mythical boxing pound for pound rankings, Mayweather is rightly regarded as the pound for pound best boxer on the planet, yet Wladimir Klitschko would knock him out every day of the week.

So none of it is really worth discussing/arguing over.

Oh,and I haven't misunderstood the gist of the article. It's merely Monk propoganda, nothing more, nothing less. Whatever turns you on,I guess.

Of course it's worth discussing. It's highlighting the huge progress and fantastic displays we are seeing under Monk. It's more than a worthy debate especially when we've just beaten (for the third time in a row) a team that has spent over £250 million in the past 12 months.
    It is not 'Monk propaganda'.

Oh how I remember the thrashings dished out by Palace,Leicester, and WBA,towards the end of last season. The game at Southampton also stands out, where a late goal saved the day. "I worry about the direction that Monk is taking us", cried one Monkeenut. Short memories some people have. Luckily, mine is pretty good.

The Monk love-in will last just as long as the team keeps winning.

Well aren't you lucky enough that i was able to point out that the game was going to plan as I said we would win that game. Countless results since have proved that wasn't a fluke as we have beaten countless sides deploying the same tactics.

We've had another great start to the season Vetch. Care to comment on that? Care to comment on Monteros electrifying games or Jonjos improvement or Ayew being great or Gomis being unable to stop scoring at present? Anything to say on beating the biggest club in world sport for the 3rd game running?

I have already commented on the good start, but the Monkey brigade only read what they want to.
Some posters are so obsessed with Monk,it's nauseating and embarrassing, and I will have nothing to do with that.
I reserve the right to hold my own views,on Monk,or anyone else, and I would expect mods to ensure that I am allowed that right.
Sadly, you don't allow that to happen, and I will not cow tow to those who need to hear Monk's praises being sung on the hour, every hour. It's juvenile behaviour to expect it.

I really don't understand your obsession with your so called "Monkey brigade". To my memory nobody was excited by Monk's appointment and it was doom and gloom for a while when he appeared to have no tactical nowse and his substitutions were a little bizarre.

But he has PROVEN that he's been learning and getting better. He has EARNED the respect and any praise he receives. I see little, if any, evidence of anyone licking Monk's arse for the sake of it. And IF he ultimately messes up and gets things wrong then I'm in no doubt he'll be justly criticized for it.

With all due respect,Dai, you clearly haven't been paying attention on this forum.

The "obsession" is with the Monk luvvies, and there's quite a few of them. I just take the piss out of them
