Mrs away working all weekend My daughterwont let me watch footie even thoughshesaid I could if I bought her a pink ice cream, which I did. She insistswewatch her Mr Tumble DVD instead I went to watch my mates band lastnight but was good and 11 bus back
Trip to Liverpool went well, visit list was as below The Crown The Old Post Office The White Star, still do a great pint of Bass Then went to see if Probe records was still going, it isn't. It is now a French Bistro, so we went in for a 4 course lunch and a few beers. Then down to The Pumphouse at the Albert Dock. Whilst there we had a heated discussion as to whether to visit the Maritime Museum or carry on drinking, the museum got 1 vote. So off to the Baltic Fleet for a couple. Finally The Swan in Wood St still a great Jukebox and good ales. Despite not drinking that much for many years I managed to get a train back to Shrewsbury, changing at Crewe, where I apparently took a mad selfie and sent it to everyone, can't remember doing that. Finally home. What we did notice was the difference in a price of bitter. £2.20 in The Crown for speckled hen, £3.70 average for various different types of bitter in The Pumphouse. Moral of the tale avoid the tourist traps!!!!!
Probe is still going mate, it's in the Bluecoat these days. I remember when Pete Burns worked there ffs! Glad you had a good day, impressive that you managed to get home on the rattler after a session like that
I can remember him working there and walking around with his then girlfriend with a chain connecting them through their noses, plonker. The meal in Bistro Pierre's, above the old Probe was good value. I think cutlery came as a bit of a shock to a few of the lads who had suggested our midday food break consist of a burger/hotdog from kiosk near Church St!! Apparently the argument was this would be quicker and give us more drinking time.
