I like the look of that except for Rodwell. I'm just a fan of his now.

Oh, and why is Fletch on the bench? Isn't there a supercar sales room he should be trawling about kick-off time?

Because between him and DG as a bench option he's the one with goals in him. We need a striker on the bench.

Looking at Funky's team, what is encouraging is the subs bench.

Subs: Vito, Coates, Catts, Larsson, AJ, Watmore, Fletcher

We are now getting a bit of strength in depth and can bring on subs that are decent quality and can be game changers.

Was hoping somebody would pick up on that. You know you've improved when your bench is full of last seasons regular starters.

Fair enough. But I don't like him! Doesn't that count for anything these days? <doh>

Don't like DG neither. I prefer the 1 in 9 to the 1 in 40 or whatever the conversion rate is for the two useless ****s

Totally agree Funky. But we're down at the bottom of the barrel looking at the scrapings!

No mate, we were scraping the barrel when discussing which one was to start games. Picking and choosing which one makes the bench feel great in comparison. 12 months time they won't even be an option. Counting the days.

Just think along the lines he needs a bit fitness before starting. Agreed that once he gets that then it's him and M'Vila in the engine room. May turn out the best pair we will ever had in there.....against the Spuds tho definitely full second half......

This for me, although I reckon catts will be in for Rodders.. I'm more comfortable him starting then JR.. Let's not forget how good a player catts is!

It would be great to find a starting spot for Watmore but can't see it happening. I think he deserves it. Until he came on at Norwich I thought we were playing that new walking football malarky.

Don't know who will play but we must ensure the fullbacks aren't exposed like we have seen so far this season, Borini and Lens have to drop back if they are playing the wide attacking roles, Spurs aren't at their best so far this season and we must capitalise, a clean sheet and three points to kick our season off is all I ask for, not being too greedy am I.

Limited choice at the back could bite us hard unless a few of our current players find some form, Catts and Jones for instance. I am sure DA will be well aware of this but it may need some more magic from Congers mid term before we can look forward with any real confidence.

Toivenen will be a great player for us....he just needs a couple of games to get him up to speed. Bring him on the in the second half when it gets to the business end of the game. I think clearly the central pair when everyone is 100% will be M'Vila and Toivenen....now I will be pleased with that.... :)

I think Toivenen will start. He got 45 first game and he'll have had two weeks training both with us and the Sweden, he had 45 the other day and hopefully more game time tomorrow. I reckon he'll be ready for a bash at a full competitive 90 for Spurs. Providing he doesn't pick up an injury of course.

Great if he can do 90 mins or nearly 90 mins. With him and M'Vila in the mid and Lens, Borini, Defoe and hopefully Watmore (think realistically it will be Rodwell or Larsson) around them that should be great to see. Need to keep the ball on the deck and play up tempo which seems when we play at our best......should be the entertainment that the fans are looking for...
