I just watched an episode of Criminal Minds where the killer was a vigilante who killed people who had been tried with violent crimes and been found innocent. That got me thinking about vigilantes and was wondering what you all thought of it.

Personally, I am of the opinion that we should never take the law into our own hands because there is such a thing as due process. Yes, the justice system is not perfect but the right of the accused to defend themselves in a fair trial is fundamental to western society and that should always be adhered to.

Hopefully this will create some healthy debate so take it away folks.

oh no. this is going to explode again.

you'll have the leftys on one side (toby, stereo) yapping about humanity..and the realists on the other side saying they (correctly) forgo any human rights the moment they for example break into your house

I was brought to court for it but there was no evidence (as it wasnt me) who done it <whistle> Still i do enjoy when i call out to my mothers house and see oul hopalong making his way down the road

The average Joe in the street is too thick to be allowed to dish out justice.

so do the leftys on here consider some filthy scum breaking into your house and putting your family's lives at risk, getting caught and then getting a slap on the wrist allowing him to go out and do it again, justice?

If somebody breaks into your house, you have every right to defend your property in my opinion.
