Shame he has such narrow views on other genres.

Plenty of people don't get the Stones either.

Fair play to him for being alive still though.

I'm disappointed. I thought this was going to be about Keith Webster of Charlton away fame.

A bit ironic for a bloke who hasn't released a decent record for over forty years.

Why shouldn't he be free to criticise other genres?
When some of the people he doesn't like have been recording and performing for over 50 years they will have earns the right tone critical of others.
Not that he is a great guitarist but he does have a strong constitution.

Very true, I can only imagine he's doing it for the publicity. To say 'Rap: so many words, so little said' is just ludicrous considering he's been making disposable pop music for decades whilst rap has probably had the largest cultural, social and political impact of any genre in the last 25 years.

Everyone's free to criticise who they like, doesn't matter if your a 50 year veteran or have never written a song in your life.

However it feels like he's just saying inaccurate things for the sake of controversy conveniently before an album release.

I get fed up bands licking each other's arses all the time. Spewing out their influences all the time, or expressing their flattery that someone was influenced by them. It's vomit inducing.

I'm glad Keith has done the rock 'n' roll thing and had a go. More bands should do it. Rock is too nice.

Unfortunately his comments are as contrived and designed to provoke controversy as any X Factor act.

He hasn't done the rock n roll thing, he's done the modern thing to get himself, and his album, some mainline and online exposure and advertising.
