I am reading a lot about Obbi Oulare being an Aston Villa "reject". Funny how these stories appeared only after he signed for us, I feel it is Tim Sherwood/Aston Villa trying to put a good gloss on their poor summer transfer activity. A bit like Massimo Cellino trying to bully Fessi into a move to Leeds by making a stupid statement (apparently aided by our director of football, Nicola Salerno) and letting the Leeds keyboard warriors loose to do the rest.

No. Work on the basis that it is the most hypocritical thing this man could ever say about a transfer window.

Did he happen to say this at 5.59pm and through the window of his car by any chance?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I have served Ari a fair few times and he was very genuine and a real gentleman, and that was towards a waiter.

People who are not nice to serving staff are generally not nice people in my experience. Nice to know, we might take the proverbial but I'm sure he's alright.

It is perfectly possible to be nice and also talk absolute rubbish. Harry is an entertainer, which is why he is on television and the radio. He is also a good football manager. You don't remain at the top end of the game for as long as he has if you are not. None of this means that you have to like him.

When I think of people in the public eye I tend to categorise them in one of three groups - would I prefer to a) have dinner with them; b) have a drink in the pub with them; or c) keep well clear. I think both Harry and Holloway would be in the b) category. Quique would be in a), and someone like Baz would be in c).

    Cover for Nyom??

Watford are reportedly hoping to sign Anderlecht right-back Gillet in January.

Watford are interested in signing Guillaume Gillet of Anderlecht in January, as reported by Belgian media outlet RTBF.

The 31-year-old full-back is said to be looking for an exit from Anderlecht, and with his contract expiring at the end of this season the club are well aware that he will leave for free next summer if no deal can be struck in the coming January transfer window.

The report states that Anderlecht are hoping to convince him to stay, but there is interest in him from Ligue 1, whilst the Hornets have started showing an interest in signing the full-back when the transfer window opens.

A Belgian international, Gillet has played 21 times for his country, whilst registering over 300 appearances with Anderlecht in his long club career - in which he has also played for Gent, Eupen and French side Bastia.

    Do Watford need Gillet?

Allan Nyom is undoubted first-choice right-back at Vicarage Road, but there is a worrying lack of cover should he get injured, or lose form as appears to have been the case in recent weeks.

Juan Carlos Paredes can fill in, but he is not a solid choice defensively, whilst Ikechi Anya can also play there, but it is his weakest position.

Gillet would be a solid and reliable option to bring in, if he could be convinced to simply play a covering role to Nyom. There are no guarantees for first-team football, and the 31-year-old surely wants to be playing every week at this current stage of his career.

Makes sense - an experienced back up who probably won't cost much.
