The countries bordering Syria should build Ghetto's for them, like the Nazi's did with the Jews and keep them together. Once the war has finished they can then be transported back to Syria. They want protection, they will get protection. They want a life of luxury, they can **** off!

I didn't mean in any way for them to be treated like the Jewish were treated and I'm not calling for another holocaust either. Well not yet anyway.

I basically meant to keep them contained and together, well fed with somewhere to sleep on a night. Once their country is safe, then they can be quickly returned. I really can't see any fairer than that.

    Well said you too.
In years gone by war refugees wanted no more than to know they were safe. Now it seems it's an opportunity to make demands ''we have now decided we're coming to your country so you must accept it'' They are rewriting the asylum rules talking of their permanent new life, with no intention of going back one day

That's the sort of thing I was saying mate, safe zones, camps funded by the EU... it'll be cheaper that 100,000 cases of asylum all going through the ECHR at £150k a pop.

They can't expect any more than protection, but we could also educate them, teach them right from ****ing wrong since their own countries seem to fail so miserably on this front, and maybe teach them that religion is a load of bollocks.

The human rights activists spoil it though, they argue that there's no end to the threat and that they'll be essentially imprisoned for life. We will never win mate, the nay-sayers always get their way.

why should taxpayers money fund their need for a better lifestyle, as a britt going to other countries in europe or abroad you get no help whatsoever, and housing and luxuries you have to work your bollocks off for, and for what all your tax money paid for years only goes to help families who have contributed **** all, bollocks do it like students are treat , give it in loans that must be paid back, how many have aids how many are medically unfit for work how many have mental health problems, we are taking on other countries problems here

So the drowned boy's dad was a barber working in Istanbul, not sure how that equates to 'fleeing the violence in Syria' exactly but so be it. He paid 4,000 Euro to have his family smuggled across the water from popular tourist destination Bodrum, into Kos in Greece, whereby from here they would hatch a plan to go live with their aunt in Canada.

As far as I am concerned, if that's the truth, then the father and the mother are wholly responsible for the death of that kid, because they're greedy and couldn't accept that they weren't allowed to go and live in Canada, when they had their sponsorship refused.

It's ridiculous how the do-gooders are making out they were fleeing terrorists... I have sympathy for these kids, because they had the stupidest of all parents raising them.

Criticism continues to grow elsewhere in Europe of the British government's position on refugees.

A leading European human rights official has said the UK is doing far less than other countries to help Syrians fleeing from conflict.

Nils Muiznieks, the Commissioner for Human Rights at the Council of Europe, said: "I am seriously concerned by the British prime minister's position that the UK should not provide protection to more refugees from the Middle East.

"While it is true that long-term peace should be brought to Syria and other war-torn countries, it is also true that the UK has a legal and moral obligation to offer shelter to those who flee war and persecution.

"The truth is that at the moment the UK is doing much less than other European countries, like Germany or Sweden, which give refuge to thousands of Syrians."

Alot of our problem was, was for many years (im talking like 11 or 12) we had a very good, strong leader in Howard and the Liberal government (centre right - basically the Tories). Howard tried to put through a work choice package to give more power to companies, the lefties and hippies didnt like it - in came Kevin 07. **** me, this **** was useless, as was his #2 Julia Gillard. These ****s are aligned with the Greens, who want to be like ****in Russia with socialism in Stalin's time. We had a policy of no "boat people" as they are referred to here. The iron curtain went up, there was hardly any illegals, no drowings at sea, and we had immigration the proper way - through the front door, vetted and proper.

Now, in come Kev and Julia with the Greens, and they open the doors. I mean, kicked them open. So many ****ing illegals. Broome, Darwin were full of them. They came in, demanding money, houses, cars. They weren't your typical refugees. They were quite well fed, some of them had plenty of access to gyms, and nice clothes. The Labor gov gave them everything. I got taxed more in Labor's years to pay for the ****ers than ever. Cars, houses, disposable income. They had better lives than pensioners who had worked and paid tax and built this country. We have an island offshore called Christmas Island, and its where we sent alot of these illegals. It overflowed quickly. So they set up communities in Broome & Darwin, and paid for them to stay in hotels. Broome and Darwin had increased Crime rates and it felt different (i spend alot of time in both). Christmas Island they continuously rioted, demanded to be let in and given stuff. And still, more came. Aussies were getting pissed. Now we are seeing alot more radical Islam, there was a planned beheading in Sydney, the Martin place seige, Jake Bilardi and a few other Jihadi's along with the ginger one. Heres a vid of some that got turned away... listen to the language and the finger pointing... Ignore the end of the vid, just the part in the boat.

    Christmas Island set on fire...

and some refugees trying to get in... Dont look to hungry, and shell shocked. xmasisland.JPG cid_image001_png01cea007.png cid_image005_png01cea007.png cid_image007_png01cea007.png cid_image008_png01cea007.png cid_image009_png01cea007.png

Too many of them just wanting the easy life, free handouts, rioting and causing trouble if they dont get their way. Australia has suffered cos of it. I dont mind immigrants, I am one - but they have to want to be an Aussie, to make this country great. Alot of the ones let in are leeching.

Asylum should be nearest safest country. surely the point of asylum is you're leaving because you have no choice. So why do they feel they can pick and choose their country? There's nowt stopping countries giving aid to help these neighboring countries cope. They don't need to go to Germany, Britain or anywhere else out of preference. Preference should not come into it. Risking their kids lives on perilous journeys to countries of 'preference' is nothing short of bad parenting.
