As much as we all seem to think he'd be a good loan signing, does anyone know why nobody has tried to get him on loan already? It's not that he's injured (he's in the U21s squad) or that he's featuring regularly for Man U - He hasn't featured in any of Man U's matchday squads, and even though they were already 3-1 up he didn't even travel to Belgium for the second leg against Bruges. Ok they've sold Hernandez since then, but Martial is a straight replacement for him in the pecking order as far as Wilson playing is concerned. Man U may want the recall option (after 28 days) due to their squad only having 2 other strikers in it, and an emergency loan can only be a total of 93 days so if he was signed now he couldn't play in every game between now and January, but does it seem odd that nobody seems to have tried for at least a half season loan?
They probably have, as I mentioned in another thread the other day, the media only get hold of a handful of stories.
Uniteds only strikers at the moment are Rooney (can't hit a donkeys arse at the moment), martial (random French kid/FM and fifa hero) and Wilson. Doubt they'd be up to letting him go anywhere for any amount of time. People have probably asked but been told where to stick their enquiries.
Spurs and West Brom apparently made loan approaches, but were unhappy with Man United's insistence on an instant recall clause. A Championship loan probably suits them now, as he's likely to get a lot of game time and Man United can recall him at any point after the initial 28 days. There'll be plenty of suitors.
A. Do we need him? B. He's too similar to what we already have. C. I'll be very surprised if Man Utd let him go, LVG rates him very highly.
we have to give our strikers sufficient chance to show what they can do. Hernandez looks like he can get himself into enough scoring positions to grab a goal a game even if that means he also misses a couple of sitters. Akpom has only had one ineffective game but people seem to be writing him off already. Diomande could be great (or ****) but we wont know this until we play him. And we still have Aluko who now looks like he will struggle to get in the side despite being one of our best players last time we were in the Championship. Even if Luer is pushed out on loan, I can't see how we could promise Wilson sufficient game time when Bruce has probably already made the same promise to Wenger with Chubby.
I'm not sure it's possible in the rules to have an instant recall clause in a half-season or season-long loan, given that they can only be recalled inside a transfer window.
You're right, I just checked and a recall clause could only be activated during the January window... please log in to view this image
