Yes, 87 has been pure comedy gold down the years, with his valiant, yet vain attempts to instill some sense of reality into the Alice-in-Wonderland realms of this site's Gooner board! He has "owned" PIXIE almost as many times as I have!
You supported Arsenal before they were Arsenal. Dial Square were pissing about in Woolwich at the time, weren't they?
Was it 87 who "owned" you with that comment about "rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic" or was it another wag having a pop at you? Top stuff, and pure comedy gold! I'm looking forward to more "ownings" of a similar nature during the course of this season, especially as Wenger decided that he didn't need to strengthen his squad. I suspect that we are going to have some truly epic Saturday and Sunday afternoon's, not to mention a few gorgeously Biblical Tuesday and Wednesday nights!
I'm looking forward to you trying we all know how they end up. Either with you blubbing or EDITING your comments. Also, you forgot the most important day of the week for Totteringham ..... SPURSDAY nights
Sure you don't want to EDIT your comment before sticking to your claim that Spurs go further in Europe than Arsenal ?
Explain then how Arsenal reaching the final of the Champions League means that Spurs have gone further in Europe ?
So have Arsenal. We're talking about present tense now though. I'm asking HIAG how Arsenal reaching the champions league final means that Spurs have gone further. On even more present. How can Spurs not even qualifying for the CL mean that they go further in Europe ?
Spurs have won more, even if you want to include your non-UEFA trophy. Nothing about HIAG's comment mentions a date or the present. You've added that.
No. Just no. How can a one-off event (a team doing better than another in one season) be referred to as 'always'? Don't be ridiculous. I think that even the most staunch Wengerite (you) would have to admit that he's got a poor record in Europe, though. It'd be interesting to see if any manager in the major leagues had entered European competitions as often without winning one. Someone like Rafa Benitez has done much, much better than him, despite not being regarded as his equal domestically by many.
You could easily frame it as we're 'always' in the Champions League, spurs are not. Therefore spurs do not go further than Arsenal as they are not even in it.
You could do, if you were being totally disingenuous. You could also accept my point about Wenger, but it seems highly unlikely.
