    What a great thread.

After digesting all opinions, it's plain to see that on the whole, we are happy and excited with our lot.

This has been one of the best transfer windows, business-wise, for us for a long time and for me, the only dark cloud is the failure to get rid of the 'deadwood,' but other than that, I'm well pleased with the pace and skill we've acquired.

I truly believe this squad will be much more entertaining and technically savvy in comparison to many other teams around us.

I also think that if these new faces settle fast, we'll have no bother climbing the table.

And without wanting to jump the gun too quickly, I reckon DA will still have a few more intended faces through our doors in January.

A happy happy Mackem me !!!!!

Only 1 more year for DG and petshop boy. they must need to try to have any hope of a contract elsewhere next season. hopefully reality bites in Jan, they accept the step down and **** off with the other lower level players.

in the meantime, we may see a short-term benefit on the pitch.

Not so sure now. My kid has just messaged me back saying every home game for Man Utd this season is already sold out!

Is your brother a United fan or a Sunderland fan?

Dud you add the "Father Ted" bit for the younger, less comedy educated users who don't know who father jack is? :)

Why are they downsides? Matthews an ok right back and Coates was decent last season? Nothing negative about either of them for me?

Why do people have to look for a negative or create one? Makes no sense to me but I guess we'll always have the negative bunch! We could win the next 5 and there'll still be a downside

I'm going mate, did my degree at UoM so always love going back to Manchester. Where do the away fans normally drink in the city centre? Heard some people say Sinclair's Oyster Bar but from my experience it's always rammed full in there even when there isn't a match on!

That's where your lot were for the semi final game.

Try the pubs down the locks mate, Dukes should be busy.

You can jump on the metro from there as well. City centre is ****ed at the minute for traffic so don't drive anywhere!

Cheers mate, we're arriving nice and early so should have plenty of time to find somewhere around the Locks. I'm going by train thank God, was down the other week and the roadworks around Victoria Station were mental, it took about twice as long to work out where I was going and that was on foot!

Haha I've just read the Wiki, there's a certain area of Manchester where I'm sure they're all too willing to recreate scenes like that...
