You work in recruitment and wouldn't want a Cv or covering letter from a potential new recruit.... Useless, remind me not to use what ever agency it is you're from!

Probably why you normally get it wrong <laugh> 80% of the companies I recruit for are early stage spin-out biotech and diagnostics outfits and aren't big enough to waste money on an in-house HR presence <whistle>

OK. What would you do if you were the CEO of a company that employs 10 people and requires a qualified and experienced Assay Development Scientist? Employ an in-house HR person, or pay a one-off fee for me to find them that person and not coughing up until said person starts their employment. As the septics would say, go figure <laugh> It's not rocket science.

Today, September 2, marks what would have been the 102nd birthday of Bill Shankly and to commemorate the anniversary, we’ve put together this tribute montage of the great man's achievements.
His influence on Liverpool Football Club is immeasurable, arriving to take charge in 1959 with the club languishing in the second division.
By the time of his departure in 1974, the Reds had become one of the most respected and feared clubs in the land having won three first division titles, two FA Cups and one UEFA cup, with a collection of players that would go down in club folklore.
We hope you enjoy our tribute to one of the most important figures Liverpool has ever known - click play above to watch it now. Happy Birthday, Shanhttp://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/193036-video-happy-birthday-bill-shankly

Talking to one in the sauna in the gym last night. She's just back from trekking in Scandinavia for the last month, but reckons she works most weekends doing school 'activities' . These include private tuition and summer school, supplementing her annual salary. But I won't knock teachers - most important job in our society, bar none, and when you see directors' salaries in our privatised-but-actually-publically-subsidised industries such as utilities and transport, then I don't begrudge them any of it.

There's good and bad in every profession so it's maybe wrong to generalise, but what really pisses me off about teachers in the main, is this whining view they have on how hard they supposedly work.

Most have gone straight out of full time education.....into working in full time education and have seemingly **** all perspective on what real life looks like. They try and perpetuate this myth that they spend every waking hour marking books and lesson planning. Boo hoo, sort your ****ing time management out then.

I'm sure it can be a tough job if you're teaching in a ****hole area.

But it's defo got its perks - 12/13 weeks holiday a year, July and August, sensible working hours and a good pension. The problem is that a lot of them don't know how good they've got it in comparison to the norm in the private sector these days.

    Welcome to Cliché World. :)
Incidentally, this really isn't my area of expertise, but what's with all this CEO business - surely that's more yank stuff?
    Whatever happened to the MD?
