Btw, I have a challenge for you, let's see who makes Arsenal fans into a joke, you or me? How about you go start a thread on the general premier league board, and mention how you think the forward line you mentioned is very good. ;-) let's see the reaction you get.
From Henry-Bergamp to RVP, and now a forward line containing a Manunited reject like Wellbeck is good enough? Sheesh.
Why are you raggin' on Welbeck? He's injured for one thing and had a patchy season last year where he rarely strung a few games together. I think he's a decent player to have and I love his attitude, energy and commitment. He was also worth every penny of his transfer just to score against United! As for Theo and Alexis not being strikers they've both started there for us, albeit Alexis last season when we were struggling for players. Most fans were calling out for Walcott to get a chance there and he was clearly signed with the intention that he'd eventually move there once he'd matured a bit. I think he'll eventually do just that and will rotate pending on the opposition. As far as them being jokes, I imagine most clubs in our league would be happy to have any one of Welbeck, Walcott or Giroud. I do think they can be improved, never said they can't be, but I don't work in football so have no idea how easy it is to do that. Anyway, this is off topic. You lot are very very very unhappy with our inactivity. I'm merely peeved.
Even before Welbeck got injured, his goal scoring form was rubbish. And why do I mention him? Because he's one of our strikers that we're meant to count on and someone YOU NAMED, sheesh, you named him, so what am I supposed to do? Just ignore the point? Welbeck is a Manunited reject, and an average striker, nothing more. I think it's hilarious though in the transfer thread you said you're glad Arsenal didn't do any horrific deals, now according to you Welbeck is worth every penny for just getting one goal, lol, man you literally make things up as you go along don't you? So if United's 36 million pound boy get's them the winning goal against City in the cup and they go on to win it, is he worth every penny, and is it no longer a 'horrific' deal? What's good for the geese is not good for the gander in your case. Sanchez BARELY ever plays up front as a striker, he is a not a striker, simple as that. Walcott plays there, but he is not very good there, he is a winger, the whole bloody consensus from literally everyone, experts, is that Walcott is NOT A STRIKER.
That worth every penny remark was meant to be a joke but, yeah, you base the majority of your argument around that..
4 league goals in 25 league appearances from Welbeck last season, yeah, that's what you call ****, especially when you play for a club like Arsenal. 16 million for a player who gets 4 league goals only? And for you, he is worth every penny, but then you say you're glad Arsenal didn't pay over the odds this summer.....This is why you cannot ever have a genuine conversation with fans like you. Joke or no joke, that's the bloody reality though isn't it? We paid 16 million for a Manunited reject who only managed to get us 4 league goals! And according to you, this reject makes our forward line good!
What makes the Welbeck saga even more damning is we paid 16 million for a reject who isn't very good at doing his main job, SCORING, and he's now taking up wages while being on the injury table for 4 months.
There are a number of issues with you're last few comments. To pick out a couple though.. I do agree Danny needs to score more but many of his 25 appearances were out wide which restricts chances. Doesn't excuse his finishing in some instances but I think he can improve on that if he got more game time. The wages/injury thing is always a nonsense argument as clubs have insurance for that type of scenario. However, you did use the word literally and block capitals in some instances so I'm f*cked either way.
Well it's too bad I can't since I am abroad, I would have made it know, but I am hoping the fans who are angry, and who do go, make it known. Turn the pressure up on Wenger, let him know they're not happy.
You know if Wenger supporters just plain up admitted that look, the way things are now, is that for Arsenal, our main goal is top 4, anything else is a bonus, I would be more accepting of that, even though I'd think it's a load of ****, but hey, that's your stance. But what is annoying is when Wenger supporters try to say otherwise, that no, we have ambitions of an elite club, that we are actually trying to compete for the title and win the biggest prizes like the league and the UCL, which is a load of rubbish as anyone can see. That's the simple reality though, for the last 10 years all we have ever done is get 4th or 3rd (mainly 4th), so don't see why Wenger fans can't just say yeah, with Wenger the goal and everything's he has done lately is aimed at cementing and keeping that top 4 status. It's like some teams have a goal of only staying up every year, others having the goal of making into Europe, while others are looking to have a respectable mid-table finish.....For Arsenal we also have our own goal like every other club, and that goal is top 4, not winning the league, or winning in Europe, but getting top 4, that's the main ambition and goal. Why can't Wenger supporters just say that? The argument starts when Wenger fans want to have their cake and eat it, being acceptive of the current situation, but then wanting to act like no we are challengers and we can compete and win the league.
I hope it happens, nough's enough. We have supported this team through thick and thin, and we have gotten nothing back in return but disappointment and failure
You obviously only want to "support" the team through the thick why else would you want to boo and create a toxic atmosphere ?
There are correct ways to go about venting your frustration. Throughout a game is nonsensical, as is cornering an old man at a train station and screaming bile at him.
The owner and board are obviously happy with that, unless fans stop buying season tickets (which they won't)
