Big memory from my childhood too, seeing pleat skip across that pitch. It probably makes me smile a bit more than you though :)

Actually I could happily put Pleat in my list of those managers I really rather dislike. And Hodgson too.

    Nah, I don't dislike Taylor.

Oh......my.....god....I completely forgot Venables. He goes straight in at a tied number one with 'Arry.

Perhaps dislike is the wrong word. Maybe "have a complete lack of respect for, for being an utter fool as England manager" would be more accurate.

Me too, you're not alone. I never found his Bristolian bullshit remotely charming or refreshing, just whiny and annoying.

Well, at the end of another transfer window spurs really haven't conducted themselves well enough to come off my hate list.

But Man United as per usual just make my blood boil. I don't want to hear anyone say what a good manager Van Gaal is. I think he is bloody useless. He reminds me of Humpty Dumpty to look at and I hope he has a great fall.

Let's spend spend spend, over 250m since he has taken over, crazy money on big name players and that's not including the ridiculous wages they are on. 60m on Di Maria, they were lucky to just make a 16m loss.

Whilst saints transfers have been sensible if not spectacular, give me our mind set any day of the week.

I just wish one day it would all come crashing down on clubs like Man Utd.

My most disliked clubs at the moment are Spurs and Liverpool, followed by ManU. Luckily they also give us amusement value.

I started disliking Spurs way back when they paid a British record fee for Martin Chivers in 1968. In those days Tottenham were probably the top club in London, having won the League Championship in 1961, so that was another reason to hate them. Nowadays hate is far too strong a word however, as we don't really have anything to envy them for, especially the way their chairman has behaved in the last few days.

1,Pompey,as a fourteen year old from Winchester,my first experience of these cretins was trying to get off a train at Fratton station and as the doors were opened pebbles / small stones etc came flying in.
2,Pompey,five or six years later walking toward the dell (on my own) suddenly my feet were no longer on the ground and both my nose and ribs took a kicking.
3,Pompey,worst of all they made my little son cry, unforgivable.
I dislike most of the usual suspects any team that hoofs it,but can only hate one.

Liverpool and Spurs...pretty confident both will struggle to reach their pecking order of 5th & 6th in PL... such a shame as their fans aspirations are so much higher.:emoticon-0136-giggl

No problem with LFC fans just detest Brenda...Spurs fans are dreadful who will turn on their team really quick, been there seen them. Shocking supporters which MP will may find out to his detriment.

Pompey.....have had my run-ins with their fans, all turned out positive <whistle>
They're not really on my radar atm.

    Karma is coming.

It's clear for all to see that top players won't got to Liverpool because of Brendan (and he is also responsible for not getting them in the CL), plus he is the reason Sterling left, basically. He won't last this season in charge.

Poch I think may go too, either from a falling out over this transfer fiasco, or failing to do anything with what he's got. And let's face it, it's well over £100m worth of talent there. Only thing that may save him (assuming results to get them into the top four don't materialise) is Levy actually being humble enough to shoulder some of the blame! ie. not going to happen.

I don't dislike Atletico Madrid any longer. That was just a minor bump in the road.

Liverpool and Spuds are fast going from dislike to figures of fun that seem to exist for amusement purposes. Long may that continue.

Oddly, Spurs were a team I sort of liked way back then, when I was a football fan. Yes, I didn't appreciate Chivers being bought, but I was quite small and thoroughly in awe of Jimmy Greaves, who is still possibly the best ever goalscorer in English football, although Brian Clough had been magnificent too, before his injury, though I didn't know it at the time.

Nowadays, I don't hate any of them. Mostly they barely exist, so my response is indifference, but when they do the worst I can come up with is dislike. Spurs, represented by Levy, are pretty shoddy, I have to say. And Liverpool, well they seem to be getting some sort of karma. They aren't going to be Top 4, and although they probably will make Top 6 it isn't nailed on.

Teams I am not really fond of
    1) Manchester United because of all the people in Hampshire who support them who have nothing to do with Manchester when there are two decent South Coast clubs worth following (SFC and the Cherries)
    2) Chelsea, same as above, and in addition elements in their support who are troublemakers, and their close association with Glasgow Rangers
    3) Glasgow Rangers

However teams and fans I like are Liverpool, Tottenham, St Pauli (a Hamburg team), Athletic Bilbao, Celtic, Sevilla, all Lancashire clubs who have really great fans, as do Newcastle.

I wonder if any football fans would do as many clubs in Germany did at the weekend which was to put up big banners that said "Welcome to refugees." It would make me very proud if Saints fans could do this on their first match after the International break. After all, Southampton is a port and we have always welcomed people from other countries down the years. Indeed if we were to trawl through our DNA, we would find that we are the products of economic migrants, maybe a refugee, Flemish tradesmen, Spanish merchants, a Turkish seaman, an Indian or Chinese trader.
