    Love hearing stuff like this

“The style and the way we’re playing, definitely you’ll see a new team. Maybe a more exciting one.

“They’ve excited me. The new players look fantastic – their technique is phenomenal.

“Seeing Ben Arfa in training, wow. The quality he has got is amazing. It’s what this club needs. He’ll excite the fans.

“I saw Demba Ba last year, I saw some of the goals and I think he’ll be a powerhouse for us. That’s what we need to replace Andy Carroll.

“The other lads look fantastic – Cabaye looks like a top quality player. You don’t get in the France team for nothing and he looks like he can pick a pass.

“Sylvain – or Sly, as I think he wants to be called – he’s sharp and very, very quick.”

EDIT: More here, he also might be getting the number 5 shirt if you fancy getting him on the back of yours next season:

“I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time with those goals,” he said.

“I’ve not put in for (the vacant) No 9! I tried to put in for No 5, but I think I’ll be No 27. That’s mine.

“The captaincy? I never thought about it. Fabricio is the top man for the job. I just want to be in the team.”

Exciting times. With players like Ben Arfa, Cabaye & Jonas theres no reason why we shouldnt attempt to play good football. Will be test considering our first league game is Arsenal though..

Arsenal without Fabregas and Nasri potentially. I think our current midfield could give their's a good game, like they did both times last season.

True. They are what we aspire to be in terms of playing style, I'd love it if we totally surprised them and passed them off the park! Then again they might not have Nasri or Fabregas and I'd love to see Ben Arfa against their centre backs.

We need 1 striker and a left back and then I think we have an even greater team. What worries me is the squad depth, our squad is still not big enough.

I'd ****ing hate it if we played like Arsenal, passing 64 times and then not scoring when you could've taken a shot after the 14th pass and scored. It irritates me so much watching them.

  9. Cabaye is the type of player i love the most. Creative, passing players.

Glad to see that Ben Arfa is still impressing after his injury. His passing and creative play was all their vs Darlo.

He just needs a few more pre-season friendlies to get his confidence and touch sorted and he'll be back to his best.

    <ok>

  10. Steven Taylor should definitely be given the number 5. Even though he was injured for sometime, he's done more to earn in than ****ing Sol fat bastard Campbell.

    Taylor for number 5.

I think we are turning into a much much worse version of Barcelona; Colo is our Puyol, Cabaye is our Xavi, and Ben Arfa is our Messi, we will also probably be playing a similar formation next season as well.

EDIT: being much much worse than Barcelona is still good. <ok>

    I love Saylor!

And yeah I think he should probably keep the 27. It's HIS number, like Shola's 23. I'd like to see Tiote get 5, personally.

Yeah he supposedly chose it because it was Albert's number, a mini tribute to him.

no way, 27 for life. It's the defensive equivalent of the no.9 in my books

  16. Fine then Tiote should get number 5.

I think the players themselves know better than the fans what number they want to play in.

This! <ok> Cabaye for 4, Tiote for 5, Ben Arfa for 10, Marveaux for 17? (If Rout and Smithy leave, like..)
