I think gbsafc4eva is back again in a new guise. I can smell the horse ****e from here. Another scumbag mag who hasn't got the bottle to post under the filths own colours but then again, I dont blame him as the 2nd NE club struggles to shine on its own under our shadow.
Gardner not really? That's a bit of a shock seeing as he scored 12 from CM last season, I'd have thought most teams outside the top 6 would have had him. A goal scoring CM is a prized asset. I suppose you guys have got Nolan who does the same though, scores a lot of vital goals.. ...Oh wait you sold him to a Championship club.
I don't think selling him to West Ham can be used as an insult, he can't do any damage to us down there.
Don't wet yourself you idiot. Only 8 of those goals came in the league, which is only two more than Shola Ameobi. Think about that for a second!
Ameobi is a forward, where Gardener was in midfield for a ****e team that got relegated. So you can't really compare the two.
Do you actually know anything about football chum? I know its hard for anyone to grasp when you see him play but isn't Amadonkey supposed to be a striker? Gardener is a MIDFIELDER you plank. He scored more form MIDFILED than your wooden plank did as a STRIKER. You think about that for a second. If Amadonkey didnt have us to play, he wouldn't have any goals to his name in the top flight.
He can't score against you, but he can't score for you either. The only point I was making is that he was a motivating and goalscoring CM for you. You've replaced him with someone who is (so far) unproven in this country, and it could go either way. Could be brilliant, in which case fair play, but could fail to shine and then you'll miss Nolan. See vauxsampson. Shola's job is to score (he's not very good at his job). I'm not sure my bladder capacity can really be linked to your team's forward deficiencies. Only 8 in the league from CM in a team who struggled for goals? I'd take that. The same as Barton (4) Jonas (3) Cabaye (2) and Tiote (1) combined. Just saying.
Very harsh, but very true. He's ****e but somehow has a knack of scoring against us. I think thats the only reason they keep him at newcastle cos he seems to do **** all in any other game.
what about Harper? and if he is loyal why hasnt he signed a new contract (i have no idea why he hasnt yet, so there may be a very good reason and not just ££££)
Yea he is loyal but we have two young keepers who need game time. Harper is good but I think he should stay as a coach.
Loyalty for a footballer is a hard thing to judge though imo Giggs and Scholes are seen as loyal, but where were they going to go, any move would have been a step down, and they are/were getting first team football for most of their time at the club. Harper/Ameobi (and countless others i may add) dont get lots of game time, but stay at the club picking up a wage. is this loyal are just happy to be at the club and dont want to drop down divisions, or take a wage cut. Then others, who may love the club, but are not getting game time, need to move on to get first team football, after all playing football is their job/passion, even if it does mean a pay cut. (not many of them about though i have to add) Then those that love the club, come through the ranks, and are supporters, and the club gets an offer that is too good to refuse, and they go to a "bigger" club and usually get slated for it. (Carrol/Henderson not tht we slated Henderson though) and then there are those that say they love the club and the fans, and the first chance they get they are off like a shot (Bent)
well for a newbie to come out with comments like that is weird, i for one smell a rat, or better still a skunk in disguise which is happening a lot latley
Agreed, it's so similar to gbsafc4eva's thread, but just worded in a less volatile manner. Seems strange, but what can you do?
Who gives a **** if it was Shola's aim to get goals? Shola is ****ing **** and managed 6. Nolan scored 12 and isn't good enough to get in our first 11 now. Neither is Gardner with 8 goals. You can **** over his goal scoring record all you want, it doesn't mean **** to me and i'll not be sweating about him at all. You've gained a midfielder that can score 6-8 goals a season, but you lost a striker that can get 20+ goals a season and replaced him with an unproven CC striker and an Asian striker from a ****ty league. We sold Nolan because he and we knew he wouldn't be good enough to break into the starting 11, and he was offered a fantastic contract offer at West Ham which i don't blame him for accepting. 5 years and 55k a week plus captaincy is an amazing deal that he wouldn't get in a million years anywhere else worth going. We have a more creative team now with more quality, which we lacked when Nolan was in the team. Nolan scored goals yes, but wasn't creative enough and lacked pace.
How do you know this though? You dont have a clue about Marveaux or Cabaye (or Arfa for that matter to be honest). They might all be world beaters as you seem to hope, or they could be complete piles of ****e. I know what we are getting and thats experienced, proven EPL footballers.
Lets be honest here my little black and white friends, you're cacking yourself about Sessegnon. But in fairness, I completely agree about Cabaye, sadly lads, hes pretty good and him and Tiote in the middle of the park has the potential to be exceptional. However, the remember the rest of their team is crud so thats ok, no keeper better than any of our three, wouldnt swap a single defender (bar possibly enrique but hey hes off anyway) their wingers including Marveaux all do the same thing, run aimlessly, shoot too much and cant cross (I watch french football a lot as my mate is a huge Toulouse fan). And rofl at their strike force, even with Ba Ba Black ****. More importantly our signings. IMO are a great great start - I hope we keep Gordon, but Im not worried if we dont. Westwood I have a good feeling about! Defensively, I reckon in O'Shea, Bramble, Turner and Bardo we have a strong back 4, extra competition from Brown, Ferdinand + 1 more would be perfect. (Note we cant sell Ferdy otherwise we'd be threadbare again!) In the midfield, we have a tonne of options, im pretty sure we'll swap it about depending on who we're playing. Larsson is the new Sean Thornton - enough said :-D Up front is still the worry IMO, Cyprussyd's article summed it up perfectly, we need another striker. Personally, I think 3million for Carlton Cole is worth a risk, ok no massive goals, but will provide the foil for Gyan we need. If hes crap, we still have Wickham and Jet Ji fighting for his place. Possibly looking abroad for a big name would also work, Podolski maybe or even Pogbrgnyak (although thats gone dead). To sum up, 3 more please Mr B: Hutton, Left Winger and Striker. Sell: McCartney, Nos, Killgallon (for the record I hated this guy from the first second I saw him on the pitch for us)
