FFS Dave your continued defence of everything NCFC does is becoming quite boring. I'm sorry but it won't wash with me, they've ****ed up big time here, total amateurish behaviour. McNally isn't teflon he deserves to be lambasted here !
I agree, however the point is to illustrate quite how sweeping the changes this window have been. Redmond for example tonight tweeted, "madness", presumably over BJ's departure. Squad morale is important if you haven't brought a lot of quality players in the window and with the loss of a fair few players, the dressing room will be impacted adversely. Besides our defence is a disaster waiting to happen, spread too thinly with inadequate backup. Midfield fair enough we have sufficient players, but this makes no one jot of difference if we are shipping goals at the back.
I think tbh I shall log out tonight & stay out. Does seem too often someone posts something & they get called god knows what, where there used to be silly banter it just seems to have gotten too serious & a bit nasty. Seeing as the transfer window is done think I'll just steer clear
My one concern is that the defence is paper thin, with Turner gone as well now, and any serious injury or suspension for any length of time, will land us in trouble. Otherwise I´m prepared to give Neil until January to see what he can make of the squad he´s got. Vadis has only gone on loan for a month, which gives us another body in there, Mbokani sounds to me like an exciting one, and Jarvis (loan or no loan) is still a quality winger, which after all, Johnson was not. I´ll miss Johnson for his swashbuckling, marauding qualities, but whether he was really PL standard is one for debate, and I´m still not sure whether he would have been able to hold a place down ahead of Dorrans, Mulumbu, Tettey, Brady and Jarvis for example.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people on here - adults I hasten to add - get themselves worked up into such a lather and react in such a preposterous and over-the-top manner, especially during a transfer window when they don't get what they want. No better than Grabban in my eyes. Gonna give this place a wide berth for a few weeks while some people find their senses.
I'm not so worried about the business we have done, barring a couple of things, as so much as the business we haven't. Without a shadow of a doubt, we wanted another centre back and striker. And the board have failed to deliver. Take the young Danish lad Sviatchenko for example. About as good a prospect as RyBen was, and about the same fee. The player wanted a move, the club would have accepted under £4m. If we wanted him, he was ours. A 4th choice CB is nothing to get too excited about, but it completes the squad. Instead, we've delayed and flirted with Cook, Onuoha, N'Koulou, Koulibaly, Collins, etc along the way. Where's the decisiveness of old? We had a spell where we identified a target, and McNally delivered frequently. Up front, until the last minute the Mbokani deal looked dead. But we don't seem to have had a coherent plan B. Gayle, Afobe, Walters, were all subject of bids, but nothing has happened. Sure we've had shorter to plan due to the playoffs, but this has been woeful.
Gutted that Johnson has gone With Mulumbu injured and Tettey picking up a yellow a game think we might live to regret that one can't see anyone else putting the boot in as much Never mind best of luck to our POTS hope he does well and thanks for putting the ball in the Ipswich net!!!!
I hope I'm wrong, but I can't help feeling that there is a certain rigidity about AN's management of the squad, including who fits and who doesn't. Instead of BJ offering an alternative to Brady on the left, we now have Jarvis with very similar attributes. Redmond's enigmatic one word summary 'Madness' could suggest a certain disquiet amongst the players about how things have been handled or simply be a brief comment on a chaotic day. The whole disruptive Grabban 'walk out' also raises questions which AN responded to by refusing to sell him to Bournemouth for £5m+, which is understandable from a discipline point-of-view until the sale of a very popular and committed player for a similar amount follows. It just leaves me feeling very uncertain as to what is actually going on.
There's always Louis Thompson, who incidentally AN rates very highly. I think everyone has forgotten about him in all the hysteria though. But yes, all the best to Bradley. Shame to see him go, but personally I don't think this is the end of our season, not by a long shot.
So we have brought in Brady Wisdom Mbokani Jarvis Mulumbu That's ok only disappointed by Johno going out but happy enough with this influx, Common Alex get em ticking Lets be havin you!!
The only players in that defence I genuinely rate are Bassong and Olsson, the others have their good days but are simply not consistent enough especially at this level, I think Neil has too much faith in two players in particular and that will cost us this season.
Allegedly the paperwork was in our hands to sign off on a £7m deal for Grabban to go to Bournemouth, but we blocked the move and didn't sign it.
Yep extraordinary if true http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sp...th__Grabban_deal_falls_through_at_11th_hour/? We agreed the fee of £7m, rightly so, then backed out?!? Repeating the Steve Cook rumour in exchange too
Grabban will be a toxic influence, I don't want him anywhere near the rest of our players. It might of been down to the Gayle move falling through, as Palace didn't bring another forward in, however we should of had a back up forward lined up this summer.
Why don't you just save yourself the bother rather than popping back on here every few weeks and than threaten to 'give this place a wide berth' because you don't like the opinions. I don't actually disagree with you, other the Johnson thing it's not been bad. Coming on a 'forum'/'discussion board' to see an opinion that doesn't match yours and throwing a strop about it and threatening to leave is hardly an 'adult' thing to do is it? Same applies to you Dave with you questioning fans credentials because they criticise a ****ing kit and the clubs business this summer. You holier than thou twats need to get your heads out your arse and look up what a discussion board is. First ones to complain about the mud slinging on here but you are also only posters on here that would provoke/have provoked me to send a message like this.
Much more likely to be this don´t you think Rick, after the Grabbangate affair, I rather doubt he would aim ´madness´ in Alex Neil´s direction.
