I think this is very likely unfortunately. .. if we are mid table or lower by winter, out of the COC to the goons and struggling in EL I can see Levy getting trigger happy.
And he never seems to look at himself!
I hope it don't pan out like that but without another striker I ain't confident

If Levy fails, once again, to back Poch next summer or boots him before then then its #LevyOut for me despite the decent financial footing he's got the club on.

According to the Torygraph, he was so close to joining Villa back in July he even posed for photos with the Villa shirt - then claimed he was waiting for a sign from god that it was the right move, and after consulting with his pastor he backed out of the move.

In other words, both we and Villa got ****ed over by a man of the cloth!

Okay, so now the window's shut and Adebayor's still here can we acknowledge that he does actually exist? The fact that he played in the Europa or whatever it was last season shows that Poch is willing to play him even after the bust-up.

It's crappy that we didn't sign another striker or two to replace him but it would be hugely wasteful and stupid to now let him rot in the reserves or youth team for a year.

If we don't see him in cup teams at least then I think us fans have every right to see that as a terrible bit of both transfer business (blame Levy/Baldini*) and management (blame Poch).

Oh and if Son is a striker then we just paid possibly our second-biggest ever fee for a striker who averages a goal every three games in a league which is not the BPL.

    * Baldini's name never crops up much nowadays does it? Not even during a transfer window when he should be earning his money the most and at least seeming like he actually does something useful.

"Some at West Brom encouraged chairman Jeremy Peace to find an agreement with Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy, even within the final hour of the window, but Peace refused.

"It is also understood that at no point in this saga did Peace give Tottenham a price that might secure the player, hence the prolonged chase and multiple bids.

"There is serious concern at West Brom about the effect this will have dressing room morale, with Berahino not in a state of mind to play and not one of the more popular figures among team-mates."

Oh really? And so then this crucial role of DOF will be horribly vacant? How will the club survive? Change Paul Mitchell's job title perhaps? Or Levy's?

The club being without a DOF will really keep me awake at night. Hope to God it gets sorted.

They have pastors in Islam too, you know!

Mitchell's role is essentially a DoF with another title. A few weeks ago it emerged the only thing Baldini was responsible for this summer was moving on various players - annoyingly, he could've moved on another one and made us much happier...

Sadly we did not unsettle him enough. 3 egos but only one can kick a football.

If Baldini goes (don't know the source for this rumour) then he has to go down as one of our worst signings in the BPL era doesn't he? Even Comolli had successes he could point to. Baldini has Eriksen, Dier and a slew of expensive players who were all sold within a year or two of their pisspoor Spurs careers begining.

Good luck to Lennon from me as well (except against us, of course). He was a wonderful servant to the fans of the club, even if he had a falling out with its higher ups. I’ll always remember that roar from the crowd he would get the moment he got the ball when he was at his best. Nobody else, not even Bale or VDV, got the same reaction from picking the ball up in midfield.

So for a while we had TWO DOFs! How is that not cheating? Surprised we didn't win the league with such an embarrassment of riches.
