There were no turnstiles at a number of SEJ entrances with only one door open with a security guard and a hand held scanner which didn't work. (Sorry, I might of said something earlier in this thread!) Let's hope they have it sorted for Sunday
My son and I transferred our season tickets from the Rookery to the SEJ this season ,before doing so we confirmed that we could still use the V bar before the game. Not a problem said the ticket office as long as your seats are the rookery side of the half way line and you back in the SEJ about 30 mins before k.o. In view of the extensive building work during the close season we thought we would check that this was still the case . After consulting 3 stewards outside the ground at the rookery end we were told that was no longer possible but there were new bar and catering facilities in the SEJ. Having gained admission to the new stand despite 1 faulty turnstile (teething problems) we were disappointed that there were no t.v's but the bar and catering looked fine. Whilst enjoying a pint I noticed people moving towards the rookery .On approaching the stewards inside the ground they said you are welcome to visit the V bar. There was an excellent and expectant atmosphere in there with all the t.v's working and a larger range of food and beverages. We made our way back to our seats and were very impressed with the view .We are in SEJ3 close to half way up .We have a good view of the benches and therefore the managers (coaches) Before k.o. a lot of non playing players and club officials came and sat a bit further along from us. Overall we are very pleased about the move and despite being quieter than the rookery the atmosphere is beginning to travel around the different stands.
In the GT lower and have a horrible feeling it will be near the front. Ah well - cannot have everything.
We also have ST in SEJ3 and agree the atmosphere is getting much better, far superior than the old main stand it replaced. I assume lots of renegades from the rookery like us.
I'm in the LGT corner, close to 1881 singing section for Sunday's game ...So hoping for a good win and making lots of noise ...Would be fantastic to see Deeney score a couple in the Rookery End goal .
Have sat in the SEJ twice now and enjoyed it. The only problem is sunny days especially in winter when the sun is low. Sat there in Jan and it was hands over eyes for the whole of the first half. In the lower GT on Sunday (partly because it's now a bit cheaper than SEJ - think they were the same price last season)
It´s been a while since I´ve been to the stadium, I´ll have to dig through my tickets to see, but I think it was in 10-11 and v Brighton and Deeney scored a 2 yard goal in the 2nd half in a terrible 1-0 game. The atmosphere was an embarrassment though, I took two German mates and a French friend and they couldn´t believe how bad the atmosphere was. I am very pleased that it has improved, even watching games now online it sounds so, so much better, it must make the players enjoy it more too.

Well it isn't Jurado, cos he is leaning back to get it over the first defenders head, and of course it is last seasons kit

Any news on the development of the corner by the away supporters ? ...Noted that several hundred season tickets were made available from mid Dec ..Does this mean the new seating will be in by Christmas ..or is there an issue with planning ? Also saw something about potential scope for further development of the Vic in the medium term , but not this coming summer . Noted on Man u site that 9,000 plus applied for tickets in a ballot for Watford game ....So the owners will know , if we stay in the prem there is big demand and greater revenue to be had .
