Why didn't we sign Ryan Christie when we had the opportunity? Now gone to Celtic. Will probably move on to Southampton before being signed by Liverpool.
Sounds about right, I've never been one for the Pulis bandwagon myself, imagine the complaints from our fans if we got him as manager given the type of tactics he uses
I think the Norwegian premier league is equivalent to league one or the lower half of championship at the best. You have teams like Rosenborg which is a OK team. They could maybe reach a top half in championship. But I would rate Stabæk (Diomande´s (former club)) as a club equivalent to Sheffield United/Rotherham...ish… Stabæk would never been nr.2 in the league if i wasn't for Diomande. Thats for sure. He is their best player. The pundits on norwegian telly says he`s too good for the norwegian "premier league", but not good enough for Premier League and says Championship might be a perfect match for him. I am a bit skeptical about this signing, but also very happy a Norwegian has signed for Hull….being norwegian myself...Hoping for the best!
This Diomande chap seems a decent buy, a bit disappointed we didn't sign a Grey/Vydra type where you know what you're going to get, but hopefully this punt will work out, he's certainly scored enough for a top division Norwegian club that finished 9th last term, guessing this is similar to our championship?? I'm more happy that we have kept Dawson, Elmo, Davies and Diame. On that note why don't we stick Diame up front? Has the size, definitely the speed and could out score all our strikers from midfield so why not push him upfront? Not ideal I know but would be interesting to see. UTT
BBC Humberside Sport @HumbersideSport #hcafc have confirmed the signing of Norway striker Adama Diomande on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, believed to be £1.7m.
The Tigers have signed Norwegian international striker Adama Diomande from Stabaek for an undisclosed fee. Diomande has signed a three-year deal having completed a medical in his home country, and will join up with Steve Bruce’s squad during the current international break. The 25-year-old, who has previously played for Dinamo Minsk and was a member of the Stromsgodset side that won the Norwegian title in 2013, has been in fine form for Stabaek this season with his 17 goals in 21 appearances helping his side to second place in the Norwegian top flight. His eye-catching performances saw him win a first call-up to the Norwegian national squad in June, when he made his debut as a substitute in a 0-0 draw with Azerbaijan. http://www.hullcitytigers.com/news/...ama-diomande-2663299.aspx#8ymGAxdphrQbmOSp.99
You see those goals such as the 1:45... that's what we're missing. That's why I'm annoyed with Elmo, he doesn't beat players anymore and doesn't run into the box, always crosses from way too far away. He likes to make runs at near post, we just need to supply. Guaranteed we won't though.
He was a decent finisher. He rarely started and rarely got chances to score when he did. However, when he did get chances, he put them away comfortably.
He won't get as much space in our league but he seems to just love running straight towards the goal. A run maker with more power than Hernandez might be great. He reminds me of Yakubu
True, but that doesn't always work out as well. Danny Graham scored a dozen in his first Swansea season; he scored double that in the Championship for Watford in one season. Who would want Danny back playing for us? I would have liked Gray but he went to Burnley. I'm more annoyed we haven't signed Bentley as he's still at Southend; we just have to meet their valuation and he's ours.
Best deadline day ever. Held on to Diame, Dawson, Elmo, Robertson, and Hernandez. Got rid of sulky chops jelavic, and a big wake up call for Huddlestone who now must realise he has to knuckle down and discover some form in order to convince future suitors. Plus Curtis Davies getting back to his best form, and snodgrass to come back. The Norwegian will be a punt like prossie and sagbo but for a couple of million who cares?
I do. Do you remember his brace against Ipswich, his goals against Leyton Orient, his goal against Cardiff, his goals against Huddersfield and Middlesbrough?
