Adlene Guedioura has completed his permanent move to Watford from Crystal Palace with the midfielder signing a three-year deal with the Hornets. The Algerian international had two successful loan spells at Vicarage Road last season and played a key role in helping the Golden Boys clinch promotion to the Premier League. Watford have held an interest in Guedioura throughout the summer but had been unwilling to match Palace’s asking price for the 29-year-old. However, with a deal for Rennes midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure appearing to fall through the Hornets quickly moved to bring Guedioura back to Watford before the summer transfer window closed. The Algerian enforcer impressed during an initial six-game loan spell prior to Christmas and returned to Vicarage Road after a brief involvement in the first team at Crystal Palace in the new year. Guedioura made 11 starts during his second spell and was heavily involved as Slavisa Jokanovic's side finished as Championship runners-up. please log in to view this image
One of the holding 2, or top 3? (In the 4.2.3.1 that is) Not sure about this one as had the feeling Flowers didn´t want to use many of the "old guard" hope he gets game time.
I was thinking he knew what was happening, this was a trick to get Crystal Palace to lower their price.
I looked at the % of games we won with him playing and at the time he had the highest % of anyone in the team and he did not play in the sheff wed game
Spot on Brian. With all the money around in the game, he genuinely sounds relieved and glad to be back and we're equally as happy to have him back. Top man and a quality player for us last season. Prem quality too I reckon. Welcome back Adlene!
Hope he gets a shout on Sat in the holding role with Capoue, Watson was ok but not great and Behrami is still suspended if I am right. Jurado looks like he´s boss´s favourite, Deeney and Abdi shoe ins for the top three I think at the moment.
Her is not really a holding player though IMHO. More a wide creative player. How best games with us last year were wide right midfield. As much as we like him, I don't think we should want him in a position where he may not fit. Ale could play that holing role, and in his brief appearance looks a good player.
He should have been brought on on Saturday, the game crying out for him and it was a miser opportunity imo. He would have been a better choice than Berghaus with something to prove!
