Do you a all remember a long time ago Wenger signed a winger who went onto be a reasonably prolific goal scorer. Henry I think his name was. I think Son may turn out the same for us.
Tottenham have made a fourth bid for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, and we understand it will be the final one. Almost certainly rejected
Everything has changed now though. Scouts were literally the only way of uncovering talent a few years back but now almost every worthwhile match is videoed and there are masses of data on every player. How do you think our scouts get us a competitive advantage over everyone else's scouts? If they don't have one then they are literally not worth having. We need to sign players who are in the top 20 in the world in their position. How many of those are going to be unearthed by scouts and how do you tell the difference between the 15th best one and the 25th best one which is crucially important. I estimate you'd have to watch both players in 50 matches to have a real clue and by that time someone else might have snapped them up.
Why are we bothering with this? We all know what the outcome is. This pretty much means we've got no backup plan or all those have fallen through too.
He would be wasted as a striker imo, he would be best used running at players from deep, he is also fairly poor in the air even though he is 6 foot. He is a really exciting player but if we try and slot him in to a position which is not his best we won't get the best out of him,.like we did with soldado for instance playing him as a lone striker.
Reports are that all Berahino bids are rejected because West Brom wouldn't have time to secure a replacement... Sounds perfectly reasonable. #Levytime ain't for workin'
what the absolute ****..... "West Brom have rejected two more bids today from Tottenham for Saido Berahino, making it four rebuffs in all. "I understand they offered around £5m, with the rest loaded in instalments and incentive payments that West Brom simply wouldn't entertain. There would've been no advantage for West Brom in agreeing to sell such a prized asset so close to the deadline, with so little cash up front." Are we just pissing around or something?
Am I an idiot for thinking that the Berahino bids, albeit smacking of sheer desperation, indicate that we are at least concious of the need for Kane back up, and that we may just see someone even Jon bloody Walters come in during the last hour? I'm an idiot, aren't I?
I wouldn't say No to Barbatov for a year. Not a Poch player, but could do a job while we get our long term objectives sorted.
If you're an idiot for thinking that then i'm an idiot too. However i think we just shot our load bidding £5m for a player then want £25m for
"only" 5 Million up front then to scupper it... Either way they're calling the shots. If we want him just cough up no?
