£10k for 4 flats, a shop and a plot of land? I went up to see it before lunch but it's a knock-down job. You could probably rebuild for under £100k so it's whether you'd be able to sell the flats at a profit as the property values in that area aren't the best.

Don't be ridiculous, you do understand what an auction is, don't you?

    Do you? Well, obviously not.

I could phone them up and buy the lot just now for £10k. You don't wait until it's going to auction if you really want to buy something.

The house I'm building just now was on another auction site and I paid exactly what they wanted for it over the phone before it went to auction (which was £55k less than what the original vendor wanted for it before they went bust! <party>)

yer baws! 10k is just a guide price, you can't always just phone up, some do actually go to auction, weirdly enough!

You can always just phone them up. I've done this before. It will go to auction if no one meets the price they're wanting to achieve or if the owner thinks that' they'll get more.

The reason most of these properties go to auction is either that it's been on the market and won't sell therefore the vendors might 'bite your hand off' or through financial distress which is how I got my plot.

    Wot is it m8 ?

"You can't always phone them up" There's a link on the site to phone them up and submit an offer before it goes to auction. I'll bet you my log-in details that if you phone up and put in a bid for £10k, it'll be yours subject to a £3k deposit being made.
