Unsurprisingly, no one predicted a West Ham win over Liverpool so everyone lost out there. Only 1 person got the time within 5 minutes which was Organic sneaking in with a prediction of 7 (time of goal was 2mins). The Swansea v United game is where a lot of the points and movement occurred with 5 getting the right result and 3 getting the score spot on. Those 3 (Saint, BobbyD & Dr) all shot up the table because of it. This is the first time I've done the prediction league - can you explain how you get a minus score. btw I predicted 3-0 ...... for us
Thanks. I'm not complaining, I have no clue when predicting which is why I held off from ever joining in but thought I'd give it a go this season cos the board's been really quiet ..... but ... Is there a reason to deduct points for wrong results rather than just gaining points for correct results and staying where you were for wrong results? It means that you could very quickly be in massive minus points which looks like you've never got anything right.
Thought I'd mix it up and give minus point for getting it wrong, to be honest doesn't really make much difference as if everyone gets it wrong, then it's just like everyone getting 0. Just means and the gap between getting it right and wrong is bigge r before it was 1 point for right result and 0 for incorrect result which seemed a bit harsh. Therefor or made is -1 for wrong, 1 for right result, 2 for rigt result and GD, and 6 for right result and score.
Fair enough. I just went and re-read the rules and this was something else that puzzled me - it says 5 points for no LFC scorer so if you predict say a I-0 loss for Liverpool do you automatically get 5 points?
yes, because you get points for the named scorer, have to give someone points if they say no scorer and we don't score. Plus it's 5 points because it's riskier to predict than a forward scoring because we score in more games than we don't. If that makes sense.
Makes sense. Just one more question if I predict 0-0 and it turns out to be 3-0 loss [ahem] do I get -1 for wrong result but 5 points for no scorer?
Nope because this year you only get points for the right scorer (or lack of) if you get the result right. What happened last year and before was everyone would get a point for Suarez /Sturridge scoring whether they get result right or wrong so made it more rewarding by saying only get those bonus points if you get result right
I'll get it in before I go: Utd 1 Liverpool 1- 1 (Benteke 33 mins) I'll guess 1-1 for the other game too.
