Good how things worked out.

 

things only worked out for one club in that deal given it's half-price to the previous one

but i guess they sort of worked out for us as we're all glad to be getting any fee for him, and it looked like Fabio had shut himself in somewhere in Anfield or Melwood ready for the nuclear winter

 

Poyet made a fool of himself. Borini was never going to make it at Liverpool either, too high a level for him.

 

If Borini scores 10 goals for Wunderland this year he will be their top scorer by some considerable distance
How many did he get whilst on loan there?
5 would have made him a legend and explain the fee.
I remember the one against the Mags and the one in the cup final, which must be worth £5m each..............oh s**t i think we could of held out for more money

Why do you say that ?! I think it's Borini who's been the fool here thinking he had a future with us and digging in, playing hardball when it was clear to everyone but him that he was done at Liverpool

 

It was 7 in the league, seeing as they got £9m for Wickham basically have swapped one for the other,with £1m or so in the pocket, not bad i suppose.
Think more likely to be a success with them than Coates

 

Because he had been away and proved himself. It shows a lack of ambition and self confidence otherwise. Poyet was determined to sign him after being told no and still went back with a ridiculous bid. Can't blame the player for wanting to try and make it at a bigger club.

Coates at less than £2 mil is far from a gamble. If he can replicate how he played at the end of last season and not try to pass it about, he could very well do well. But then again might not.

 

Honestly, I don't think he had a future with us, I think he was holding out for Real Madrid or Barcelona to come knocking... Fab is a bit delusional and thinks he is sthe next Derek Asamoah.

 

Borrini is a tidy little player, just needs the right club, clearly he was lost at Liverpool, just as Joe Allen is, they will both prosper when they find the right club.........

 

If Allen can tie his boots without getting injured we may be able to see what he's capable of.

Ever watched him play for Wales? I watched him play week in week out at the Liberty, excellent midfielder who I'd have back in a heart beat......

I'm a big fan of Allen but he;s just too injury prone and inconsistent. Good squad player but unfortunately we already have too many of them .

 

We never had the injury issues with him, maybe he needs more game time to gain that extra yard.........

 

He played brilliantly for a SMALL club Phill, but he can't hack it with the big boys.
