This. The £35 million will be reinvested in the club but whats the point if sponsorship money, tv money, league position money, outgoing transfer money, ticket sales, and merchandise sales aren't going back into the club.

IMO, because the £35 million was money from a transfer, it should have been spent on transfers. Although I think the lack of investment in the transfer market could have benefits as well; i.e. we're buying more shrewdly (release clauses and free transfers), rather than paying over the odds for overrated premier league players.

We've already sold a player for £35m, so we should have plenty to fund transfers... **** off Mike!

If we are being led to believe Lambias agents get a fee paid from brokering the deal that clubs and players
used to manage well enough without before but why would an agent expect a bonus AS WELL or is it this
hoodoo about the Carroll £35m that everyone wants a piece of as they're greedy bastards?

Something I've just read today via new snow suggests loads of agents are hawking their player to Newcastle
with of course only their client's interests at heart!

    BAD NEWS
Ashley is a complete arse, We have a small amount of money left but we need to sell to raise the funds for a new forward

SOLD DOWN THE RIVER AGAIN AND ALL YOU LEMMINGS ARE HAPPY

35 MILLION PLUS ALL THER OTHER STARS SOLD IE NOLAN,MILNER ETC ????
LETS HOPE JOSE GOES ON A FREE NEXT YEAR AS WE WILL NEVER SEE ANY OF THE CASH IF A FEE IS INVOLVED.

STURRIDGE IS A GREAT PLAYER BUT I THOUGHT WE WERE MENT TO REPLACE CARROLL
    NOT PLAY STOP GAP

    UOTE=mmmkay;831267]http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/ne...ed-to-swoop-for-dan-sturridge-79310-29067142/

Snippet: NEWCASTLE United are lining up a loan move for Chelsea’s Dan Sturridge after Mevlut Erdinc’s snub forced them into a major transfer rethink.

I'd be happy with him signing on loan (with view to permenant). but i just dont see it happening for some reason.[/QUOTE]

Can I just say, the way Ashley's acting it seems like if we had not sold Carroll then it seems like we would have nothing to spend in this transfer window. Surely we would have got some money, so we should have closer to 50m to spend.

If Ashley just keeps the 35mil, that means he's a third closer to getting the 100mil that we allegedly owe him (because the stupid fat cnut didn't do any research when buying the club - obviously this is our fault) and therefore a third closer to f*cking off.

How much do you reckon he has made back from this 100mil now? 50-60mil?. A couple more years and he'll be away.. hopefully...

Sorry but this is wrong on every level. No business man buys a football club to make money. At best they hope to get a club in a position where the turnover can just about cover the expenses leaving him/her to have to finance player purchases and major capital development out of their own pocket. MA is no different. However, NUFC has been running at a loss for years so MA has been covering the loss as well as capital improvements.

To suggest that he will be taking the money made from tv, sponsorship and fans for himself is both innacurate and unfair. Those income streams haven't resulted in any profit so there is none to take. In addition how would it benefit him to take income from the club if he then has to put it back in in order to meet the fairplay regs?

It is also necessary for the club to reduce its wage bill so it is perfectly understandable and correct that not all the £35m can be spent on player acquisitions.

Final point - does anybody actually think the MA has gone to all the time and trouble of negotiating potential deals re Erdinc, Gameiro, Gervinho and others for sums in the region of £10m if he wasn't actually willing to part with the money once the deals had been agreed. So for posters to suggest that he has no intention of spending any money, i'm afraid it is pretty obvious that you have not thought your arguments through. Or are you letting the Sunday Sun do your thinking for you?
