I find it hilarious. As an Arsenal fan there is nothing else to talk about. So at least we have the Mancs to thank for keeping things entertaining.

Woodward will have used google translate to put it into spanish. Before realising it's the same thing.

    FIFA TO LOOK INTO CASE
Football's governing body will listen to the case put forward by the two clubs tomorrow, according to Guillem Balague
La Liga says the documents did not arrive on time. Fifa will look at the case tomorrow. Both RM and United pushing for it to happen
    — Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) August 31, 2015

Could all still happen tomorrow, both clubs seem to be pushing it.

I actually think the truth is much simpler. I hate to say it but someone at United (probably Woodward) didnt think of the 1 hour time difference.

Anyway latest pictures from the Ferguson residence, just in...

the two richest clubs in world getting special dispensation from an association in the middle of a very public corruption scandal.
I wouldn't hold your breath, but if it goes through expect a back-lash.

I'm guessing Ed's watch was very expensive - surely there's no way it could be slow...

Madrid have just now admitted it has been their fault all along. They had been slow to submit the papers.

And to deepen the mystery, the La Liga offices have now said they haven't even got said papers. Not even now.

    DE GEA SAGA DEEPENS
Our man in Madrid, Sky Sports News HQ's Gary Cotterill has the latest on David de Gea’s stalled move from Manchester United to Real Madrid
“La Liga had said Real Madrid’s paperwork turned up 28 minutes late. However, I’m now hearing from the La Liga offices that they haven’t received any documentation about David de Gea at all! Not on time, not early, not minutes late, nothing at all. As we speak, no paperwork asking to add De Gea to the Real Madrid squad. The plot thickens..."

It's Real. They don't need to comply with silly little rules like transfer deadlines. The transfer will go through. No doubt about that!

    It needs to doesn't it?

Otherwise it's United that's left with a proper mess, not Real.

Not sure Real will be in a good position either, they have more or less forced Navas to agree to the deal so he must feel unwanted now.

All the officials and journos are on their books (or little black notebooks) <ok>

I can remember when Madrid was under financial pressure to reduce their expenditure and their massive debts, they somehow managed to sell their training ground worth at most £2m (to be very generous) for £100m to the council. Together with the use of the said ground for a nominal rent.

    Talk about widespread corruption <ok>

We get a great keeper for another season, although his head won't be right. Real get a great keeper for free next summer.

    Deliberate by Real.

I think it's hilarious honestly, it's given me a good chuckle and brightened up my fake Monday morning back at work!

Reading a few articles it seems the cash+Navas was actually Real's first official offer all summer long so it's hardly our fault if they come knocking with a few hours to go wanting to finally talk about a deal despite us trying several times with a De Gea+cash for Bale or a swap for Ramos etc. It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't delay the paperwork until 10:59 (11:59 for them) on purpose to get one over on them. Sure we'll lose £29m with him going for free next summer but given we're prepared to spend a small fortune on a 19 year old, saving money clearly isn't on the mind right now!

Yes, both sides get something from the collapse of the deal. The main loser is DG.

    AND:

I wonder now whether this last minute bid by Real was only for them to placate him. Real probably want him on a free next year but DG wants to join now. So Real went through the motions and said they were a bit too late. Why otherwise say they missed by a minute, then by 28 minutes then now we find they haven't even sent the papers through.
