I was good friends with him at primary school and played in the same youth teams. Out paths (and waistlines) also went very different directions since then!
Good banter between Barnsley and Everton fans. For those that don't know, Everton signed John Stones from Barnsley. The Barnsley fans are chanting "Jose Mourinho" and the Everton fans are responding with "f*** off Mourinho" - wonder if Barnsley get a share of any profit Everton make. Given the amount Chelsea are said to have bid, and that Everton paid £3m, even 5% of the profit would be very useful for a League One club.
Yes, Barnsley do have a sell on clause. Based in figures being talked about they would get around £6m
I see Southampton lost their Europa League qualifier tonight. Not a good week for either of our clubs.
I'm surprised by Sean's remark that "Barton is in demand and thought highly of!" Sean, you need to get out more!
As a matter of interest, what is the latest with QPR and the FFP fines etc that were imposed. They seem to have got away with zero sanctions...or I may be wrong, anyone know?
I thought that they had been fined, but not as much as they could have been and I think they're appealing even that. I remember some article about the implications if they are successful, but I didn't read it.
Whatever we may think of him, you have to give him credit for this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34082210
Two refs in one house. I wonder if the coffee mugs, marmalade and spoons are moved around the breakfast table as they discuss the finer points of the offside laws? Worse still I suppose could be that the "magic spray" is taken to bed, with instructions to stay behind the line.
