You forgot to add that he came third in the last world cup which is something no coach in England has achieved since 66.
Footballs far more complicated than some seem to think. Especially when it involves bring new ideas to the table. Van Gaal and pep are managers that do just that. They have no time for sentiment and will mould the team in their way. Van Gaal has binned some united legends without a moments hesitation and pep has done the same at Bayern. At Bayern he's got it far easier compared with van Gaal and the Premier League but he's had to re educate the players into his way. Van gaals doing the same, albeit under far more difficult conditions. You can have a manager who comes in and keeps things ticking over. It will work in the short term but if you want to look long term, you tear it up and start over. That's what we've done.
True. But this guy is a total unknown. Played about 45 games in France and scored 11 goals. Absolutely insane. He's no better than Wilson really, you're basically buying a French Wilson and it's gonna cost you the best part of 50mil. To put it in context 7 weeks ago Spurs could have bought him for 20mil Euros. But Spurs refused and offered 10. Now you're paying £36mil plus add ons. THAT IS 13 MILLION + MORE THAN PEDRO FFS. We may as well completely scrap academies now if this is the way it's going.
He's also fallen for the trap of the ongoing myths surrounding his time at Barcelona. He fell out with two player s who believed they were bigger than the club. He put then in their place. One of those players has since spoken of his respect for van Gaal (rivaldo) and the other is so bitter he hasn't let it go well over a decade on.
He's consistent ly achieved at every club he's been at. He has two failures. Holland first time round and Barcelona second time. In 30 years a handful have bettered him.
Compare the two sides. He did what nobody expected. The Dutch weren't even expected to qualify. They qualified as the best side in Europe.
Fallen into a trap? What are you spouting about? LVG is nothing special. Opinion. You can think you've made your arguments as convincing as you want, they're not going to be anything more than your usual tinted view.
Fair enough, your opinion. You're happy he's your manager. Most non United fans are happy he's United manager. We're all happy
You have to laugh. UIR who's spent his life slating Pep is now using him to defend Van Gaal. The irony is that at this moment in time Pep is possibly the worst example to use
Slating? Please stop making things up. I think he's one of the best around but don't consider him the very best. I once said anyone could be successful with his Barcelona side. I assume that's why you think I have slated him.
Debatable and impossible to prove. IMO both are way past their sell by date in today's game. Neither fit for purpose in their current positions.
What everyone has to understand about UIR is that bcos he only deals in absolutes, he thinks everbody else does too. So bcos he thinks the sun shines out of Van Gaal and Woodward's collective arses, anyone who actually disagrees in the slightest is basically calling Van Gaal absolute ****e. He is incapable of anyone crediting Van Gaal when he does something right while criticising him when he gets things wrong. The pitchforks and burning stakes come out and he goes into some mad crazy logic that makes no sense
To be fair I'd rather have LVG than Wenger as manager. As nuts as he is, LVG will go **** or bust to try and win. It will be a rollercoaster that I suspect will end in disappointment but at least it will be interesting. Wenger is happy to plod along achieving respectability. Less of a rollercoaster ride, more like a mobility scooter ride.
Always comes to you contradicting yourself and sounding completely irrational..yep! If this was happening to one of our rivals you'd be camped on their board ripping the absolute fcking piss. And you know it! Please stop the bullshit it's embarrassing. Just keep your fingers crossed we come out of this mess with a decent season but for god's sake stop pretending it's part of some grand master plan ffs.
I think there probably was a plan but it's been poorly and amateurishly executed. The volume of players coming and going out of United, the transfers fees involved, the unbalanced squad...it's all indicative of mismanagement. Currently we are going into the first half of the season with three strikers. The main one is 29 but playing like a 35 year old midfielder. The two back ups are completely untested teenagers. It's comical really.
27 players have been let go since van Gaal came in. That's the entire side gutted. He's spent 250million on something like 15 and promoted a few others on top. If he's not in the middle of the biggest rebuild we have had in years then what is he doing? Can you also tell me what's so irrational about that? I mean I am not asking if he or the CEO has embarrassed the club or claiming he doesn't have a clue what he's doing here. I am simply looking at it with my head. Anyone who thinks the job was going to easy is naive. Its a huge job that needed someone like van Gaal. Someone who would make the changes needed. If you think I am completely happy with everything, you're an idiot. If you think I see van Gaal as Infallible then you're an idiot. I'm just not losing my **** like you do all to often. That's the kind of poster I would be laughing at on other boards and be winding up. There's plenty of work to be done so you can either keep losing it or sit back and enjoy the ride.
