That's bollocks logic though. As invariably we pick off one of our own on the first night, so we're doing the bad guys job for them. Just selecting a name at random achieves nothing but costing us a team member

Cheers fella, managed to slip my mind.

Don't know if I'll be able to fully catch-up and weigh-in so it'll probably be a guilty-looking sheep vote from me if any clear direction is forged nearer nightfall. You're welcome gang!

Not really. Because we discover mafia by putting 2 or 3 people up for lynch and then somebody makes a move last minute to change vote or tries to add more into the lynch late on. It gives you an idea who's with who. It means you can link people who vote with each other, change votes at roughly the same time etc. There's always a pattern. No Lynch just keeps us all in the dark and doesn't help us at all, especially with the game as short as it is.

If we go no lynch first night we'll be in EXACTLY the same position second night not knowing WTF is going on. And then what do you suggest we do second night? No lynch again just in case we lynch town? If we sit on our hands doing nothing we will be picked off with ease.

yes. no lynch now is no good. no lynch at 8:30pm might be the lesser of all evils, pun intended

Look back at previous games though, all that happens is that people change their votes, the town make incorrect assumptions as to their guilt and then chase another innocent on day 2. It's a well worn path, it doesn't ****ing work <laugh>

The bad guys will act day 1 and we should concentrate on what they're doing which could give clues as to their identity as opposed to going the random route yet again and then going off on some inane tangent.

So should we not break this trend and say hey.. hang on. if someone says at 8pm this guy is innocent guys nobody has defended him at all and changes his vote... or just doesn't agree with a regimented 3 way vote that no mafia is biting on.... well the obvious thing is its a ploy but the other simple explanation is the guy really doesn't think its right.

I remember back 4/5 games apologising to valley at 8:30pm saying it was too late to change but i didn't change and he was lynched innocent. we have 1/2 hour to change it.

I agree that by the end of today there is something the bad guys will have done that something that when we look back will be obvious in hindsight. they have to be acting somehow. And usually in different ways some on some not etc etc.

things that are suspicious will be suspicious. things that are explainable should be explained.

    I am still torn.

No lynch keeps more of us in the game, but we learn very little about the evil.
A tied vote teaches us more, but drpending on the rules Milk applies, we could kill multiple players.
I'm not a fan of putting o e person out on their own for lynch so early on, with nothing to go by.

So right now, I still don't know which strategy to go for. Suggestions - and justified reasoning - would be very welcome. <ok>

So we should use the system that puts innocents at risk with people unwilling to change in case they look guilty even when nobody has tried to save them?

Or is your post now going to be used as the justification by someone who does try to save someone last minute and claim it wasn't a mafia move?

Remember we could have some really powerful townies who might give us useful information/actions tomorrow. Not if they're randomly lynched though.

My thought is that first everyone who can should get talking.

second IBWT should tell his two bessies to stop voting for him and why so we can all hear it.

thrid I am actually surprised that nobody has even given a joke role by now. I was actually thinking Friday that this would be a fun part of the game and made up two.. I dreamed up another yesterday reading the OP....

I was going to play the role of FIONA... a portly older bint who created the soiled sheets in one of the rooms and walks funny. My other two were a) the "beloved princess" this is a great title for a fake role and the idea was if i was lynched then the town could not win in the end game rising evil.. I thought calling myself a princess would tell the medium i was not being serious b) I copied this one off a different game... its a non existant role... "the type of **** that nobody wants to pork." my powers were shrivel and turn (gay)

in any event... nobody seems to want to dare give a real or fake role out for fear the medium is going to descend on them like a tonne of bricks.

anyone else have a great role idea for this game?

no exactly the opposite. We should take the no lynch and a get out clause.

    1. no vote = tacitly allowing whoever is up to get lynched
    2. no lynch vote = saying specifically lets not lynch.
    3. switch vote = you think the person you switch to is more guilty looking than the first.

I'm saying if you come on and say hey.. IBWT hasn't done a thing to defend himself what do you conclude or let happen next?

    Do you think..

    a) he looks innocent
    b) he wants to die (do we know this or not, could be posisble)
    c) oh i better not change

    Just saying......

If the vote smells right you fine.... great If not why sit back and say oh well at least it was not me.

I presume we do have town roles. there has to be some detectives at least one IMO as if not the medium gets no help. Sure random is bad but the only way to stop a random lynch is for the lynchee to defend himself so over to IBWT.

He's not online though, I'm sure he will pipe up later on when he realises he's in the frame as it stands.

You trying to read something into the random voting of Biscan and his failure to plead his innocence as yet, is a prime example of exactly the kind of baseless assumptions that end up forming the basis of a decision for the town that's invariably a random shot at an innocent.

    hopefully so....

I can't read anything much into two votes but there are 3 things

    1. Two LFC fans voting for another (makes it no big deal? up to all to decide)
    2. Second vote onto a player is a bigger deal than just a random
    3. Other votes after it could be seen differently as people might have just voted onto no votes cos they knw they could get the vote done now.

every option is possible.. more options are possible. it is however something to talk about no?

you'll note i've not voted so i've not committed to any action myself.

Caught up. See in still in the lead with 2 votes.

Hard to really defend yourself after not even one day. Obviously I'm going to say I'm not evil but no one is necessarily going to believe it.

In terms of game plan in not too sure. I don't like idea of no lynch as it doesn't give you much info, rather take the risk and hope we get someone in the mix that's a bad guy, but I know likelihood is well hit a good guy.

Tricky thing is we don't know how many town roles there are, if there is only 3 for example then just as much chance of hitting bad guy than good town but if we have 6/7 town roles and important ones then we're just as likely to hit one of them
