Lots of Geordies from the south side of the river support Sunderland.

Football on either side the river is going to be another waste of time from what ive seen so far.

    Absolutely ****e.

Mclaren needs to have a rethink but from what hes saying its unlikely.

Its the same **** as before playing a lone striker and also sissoko rw its like living in a recurring nightmare.

Mitrovic? hes already flopped in my opinion. I've no doubt carr has an eye for attacking midfielders but jesus Christ strikers? Cisse scores goals but has no pace, no power and zero intelligence on the ball.neither of these players are helped with the system we play. I end up feeling sorry for the players we sign.

Anyway good morning I'll get annihilated for this but ill be back in 3 months and see what you're all saying then.

It'll be interesting to see if we appeal it and if it then gets reduced to a yellow. If that happens, Mariner should be taken to task for it. It sounds like it might be a busy week for the review panel in light of Mark Nolan's shocking red card at Anfield. These 'professional' referees are really having a laugh with some of their decisions.

Was worried about this after the Swansea game, yesterday only went to prove it though. Might have the ability but hasn't got the intelligence or temperament at the moment to succeed. Carr signings have got worse with time.

Having watched highlights this morning, I can't say I'm surprised it was a red card. Had it been an opponent, I would have been shouting for him to go.

Sissoko, Thauvin, Chancel all nailed on yellows.
Blame the referee as much as you want, but, he wasn't the one making rash challenges and forcing the decisions to be made. We lost discipline yesterday, there's no doubt about that, and we could easily have ended up with Nine on the pitch.
Certain penalty for Arsenal denied by the referee as well, how the f*** he missed that.

Much easier to blame the officials and Arsenal, but, perhaps a good look in the mirror wouldn't go amiss.

It's to do with tracking possession and passes, tackles etc for some betting sites I think. It's easier to do it on a controller than it is to do on a keyboard or a computer.

He's actually controlling Haidara at left back. Unfortunately the Wifi connection keeps missing - hence the occasional lapses of judgement and the cross into the crowd.

Thought the red for Mitrovic was harsh but we do need to sort things out on the discipline side. We can't keep putting ourselves on the back foot in games and then losing players for upcoming matches. We need to aim for 4pts from the next two games. Think we need to give Perez and Aarons starts in the next games.

Aarons not even on the bench for the Arsenal game so I doubt he will start. I wasn't massively impressed by him in the Northampton game either tbh. I think he is probably a lot further away from taking the Premier League by storm than we had thought.

Has missed a lot of game time through injuries, so is going to take time to get back to his best, same with De Jong.

Cant agree with this...Sitting in the east stand and seeing the challenges i think the arsehole players knew they would be looked after........Colback was wiped out doon the wing just before half time no yellow...Also a arsenal player waving a imaginary yellow to get a newcastle player booked, nothing happened..It was double standards all day.
Like i said earlier if it was Walcott doing the 16th minute stamp **** all would of happened...thats the beef with the **** ref...teams like Arsenal are looked after .

My thoughts exactly. We were to blame for our own downfall. I can see why a red was given, it wasn't dangerous, but he did give the ref the option because of the raking of studs. You can't do it now. You will get away with those some days (as others have over the weekend), however you can't complain when you don't. We had a 20min spell after he went where we were just running around like headless chickens picking up bookings for fun.

I have seen praise from our supporters about our performance, and I don't get it. I thought it was undisciplined and we lacked quality. I am pleased to see a bit of fight back in the team, and if we channel it correctly it will do us the world of good. However our passing and treatment of the football will have to improve from these first 4 games. Its one thing which has surprised me as it was the one thing I thought would improve under McClaren given his coaching reputation. I'm sure it will over time.

Do you think a Arsenal player would of walked for the same offence in the 16th minute?

To be fair I agree we put in a great amount of effort. I think after the last few seasons, that's the minimum any of us wanted to see. I have sat watching far to many games where we have just folded. We haven't done that this season, we've rolled out sleeves up and dug in.

I couldn't however say we deserved anything. Our quality was poor and we created little. They were poor too but created enough to win. I'm not convinced by Arsenal, they still have no killer instinct. When Colo and Haidara were all over the shop early doors, they had chances. If that had been Man City, they'd have been 3 up and really exploited it. Arsenal shifted us around no problem and pulled those two out of position, but never really looked like capitilising or at least didn't convince they would.

My main concern with us is our surrender of possession so much over 4 games. Gini and Anita have showed at times an ability to keep the ball under pressure in tight squeezes. The rest not so much. We just lack that bit of nous to open those situations out. I watched Swansea yesterday and against us, they were really clever in possession. Not as much yesterday as Man U dominated possession I would imagine, but when Swansea did have it they were clever and carried a threat. We showed some of that against Man U, but my worry is when Gini has an off day like Saturday, what else is there? Who steps up to the plate?

This sounds like a there there oh well conversation.

You know like the ones after someone get dumped.

No offence but from minute one they were leagues apart and the ref actually saved us by refusing a stonewall pen.

Defended well after the red but in my eyes we were getting destroyed anyway with eleven.
