No. We need a lone striker, since Kane doesn’t have a real backup. Our midfield has looked good so far. The big problem of no attacking pace has been well addressed with Clinton and Son. A Schneiderlin level DM might well be worth it, but anyone short of world class wouldn’t be, IMO. I was one of the ones who said Dier shouldn’t start as DM at the beginning of the season. He was MoM, I thought, yesterday. His ability, attitude and tendency to improve make him worth his place, I think.
Sky now saying that Wanyama hasn't travelled to meet up with the Kenyan national team. They're also saying we're interested in Januzaj,
The Januzaj rumours would be because of the latest ton of cash they've spent on Martial; and reflect the fact that even hack journalists can work out that Martial is not the out n out striker they desperately need. Januzaj is a good player but we absolutely don't need another Townsend.
Yes. He's worth no more than 20m even by today's insane standards. Van Gaal is driving the club into the ground. If they finish higher than 4th this season it'll only be due to the performance levels of Chelsea and Arsenal.
I really don't get it. I reckon I could have Utd where they are with the players and the cheque book he's got.
I don't think anyone does. The bloke whose office is next to mine has been loyally supporting them for 40 years and even he can't work it out. When there were rumours floating around that they'd bid close to £40m for a 'striker' he came running in excitedly to tell me Cavani was about to sign. But that 'striker' turned out to be a 'winger' who the media will refer to as a 'striker' in order to make it appear that Van Gaal has a brain.
Maybe he's a double agent working for City. He financially ****s Utd while City dance off with title!..
To replace De Bruyne? Think: Chelsea had him , sold him and then Wolfsburg made a huge profit. Same to happen with Azzaoui-he will be back in the premier in a couple of years and someone will pay big money for him. Pity we couldn't just loan him out-has potential IMO.
Translated too: Apologies from Simon Busk Poulsen, who is injured. @ChrisEriksen8 is questionable and is been in Tottenham, where he gets treatment #landsholdet
Yeah heard about the Azzaoui stuff the other day, was hoping it weren't true. Seems like a huge prospect, Wolfsburg have obviously offered him a deal that will see him around the first team picture sooner rather than later, something we maybe couldn't have offered as quickly. EDIT: Maybe we were open to letting Azzaoui go due to Oduwa's recent surge. Had a fantastic pre-season and is currently (as expected) looking like Cristiano Ronaldo over in the Scottish Championship. Think Azzaoui played in a similar role to Oduwa and seeing as there's not much difference in age between the pair, the club maybe felt that they could afford to allow a prospect go and seeing as Wolfsburg wanted Azzaoui, things just fell into place for it to happen. Hopefully we put a sell-on clause in the deal, chances are if he starts reaching his potential, he could be another Belgian getting a big money move in years to come.
Now the Hernandez to Bayer rumours are gathering pace. I assume they see him as a replacement for Son. It's all about joining the dots, this transfer rumour lark. Now who I wonder will Monaco look to to replace Martial? We happen to have a striker on our books who speaks French...
